Problems With Telltale's Batman

Currently the time I spend to play games is currently filled by two games, Telltale's Batman, and Disney Emoji Blitz on my phone. I'm playing both for two completely different reasons but those are the two that get the nod over everything else currently calling Mount Backlog home. Good morning Pixlpeeps, as I sit here typing away before I get to eating breakfast I thought it was time to update you good people on what I have been playing. As you already know there are two games I'm playing consistently but there might be a game or two sprinkled in for flavor. Let's get started!

Chris Plays...

Telltale's Batman – PS4

So I finished Episode 1 which is an excellent jumping off point for what could be an interesting storyline. It takes a story we all know and tweaks it a little bit, throw in a bit of choose your own adventure, and some actual controller use for a fun time. This is a recipe for some good ol' fashion enjoyment. As I started Episode 2 things were going well until I ran into a prompt problem. At certain times you have to move the joystick a certain way, which I had no problems doing until I ran into one where you make an arch on top of the joystick. I've been doing this but the arrow on screen doesn't turn yellow and of course Batman eats it. Every other arrow prompt I have no problems with but this one just won't work. I've tried both sticks and nothing. At this point I am going to uninstall Episode 2, reinstall it and try it again. If that doesn't work I will probably just put the game down for a month and try again later.

Another problem I ran into is at various points in the game there are horrible slow downs in frame rate. I'm lucky that it doesn't happen during portions where timing is key because that would just be a pain. Anyways its amazing how many problems I have run into with this game and Assassin's Creed Chronicles China. What a way to start 2017.

NCAA Football 14 – PS3

My Eastern Michigan Eagles are still dropping 50 points on teams, and they started conference play with another 50 point game against Central Michigan. I check on the other coaches that were on Bowling Green's staff last year and they combined have 2 wins.

Lego Movie Videogame – Steam

Everything is awesome and so far I'm not dreading this game. I only play maybe one level at a time but I do like collecting stuff even though I really should be playing it in a speed run. What is keeping me from doing that is that the last time I played this game I played it with my 6 year old cousin on the PS4, and we played through the whole game in two or three days (I was already halfway through it before he jumped in) and I remembered how much fun he had. I'm slowly leaning towards liking the game but I really want to tackle the Western DLC and I won't touch it until I finish the entire game.

Disney Emoji Blitz – iOS

I have one day and fifteen hours left to complete the Jafar game and I should be able to finish before the deadline. Unlike the Ursula game you unlock Jafar at the first of three purple boxes

The other two are just power-ups to make Jafar's special move more powerful. I also unlocked a gold box by spending 30k gold coins and I got a power-up for Maui's special move.

I took a break from Super Mario Run because I was starting to get tired of it and I didn't want to completely burn out from the game so I will stop playing for a bit.

Before I finish this latest entry I got a message from someone on Playstation and when I went to check the Playstation app I was hit with this

I guess Sony has taken a page from Facebook's useless let's have a perfectly good app send you to another app that I don't need. Yeah I guess the ability to check your messages in one app wasn't worth it anymore so I have to download a special message app. Why? What is the point of this? The previous app was fine, the X-Box app doesn't do this, so why does Sony need this? I downloaded the app, reported the user who sent me a message about earning some in game currency and I erased the app. Hey Sony things like this tend to push people away from your service.

Anyways I am off. Have a good week Pixlbit!

That's all for now, more later!

-Chris

I have one lego game, The Lord of The Rings, it's on my Mt. Backlog. But I can't wait to play it.

Lego LotR was fun. It was a bit different from the other Lego games because you had to craft certain items.

I really want to play through Walking Dead TellTale games, but I just hate the prompt system so much! I only really liked Wolf Among Us, but it was an interesting world and characters. I really like what Life Is Strange did with narrative genre and hope to see more from them in the future.

Also, that Disney emoji game, can you use those emojis in actual texts outside of the game App? They look adorable.

After awhile I really didn't notice the prompts.

Yeah you can use the characters once you unlock them. There are also a ton of other emoji's you can unlock by playing the game. They're arranged in groups and they are things like Mickey hands, stuff you'd find at Disneyland like Churros, sno cones, and other items related to various movies.

With TWD, I would lose characters not because of dialog options, but bad timing with prompts. Same w Game of Thrones. I'm stupid. I know.Undecided

I should try that with the Walking Dead. Thanks to Amazon Prime I got both seasons for free. Game of Thrones I own on PS3 but I couldn't get into it. Maybe I should give it another try.

Nooooooooo. Why can't TellTale fix those framerate problems? I've had them in every game of their's I've played. I want Guardians of the Galaxy to be perfect.

Yeah the slowdown is there in some scenes. I wonder if its on their end or the console needs to catch up.

Totally on they're end. There's no reason why there should be slowdown. I've seen more complicated gameplay and finer graphics run perfectly smoothly in many other games on XBO. They're graphics and animations are nothing compared to some games I've played recently. I don't expect slowdown at all in Telltale's games. It baffles me.
