I am continuing my run of the Metal Gear games. I am now playing Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake.

After playing this game for about an hour I believe that the 1998 playstation release of Metal Gear Solid is based on this game. You start the game off by swimming  to the beginning of the exercise. And you are contacted via codec by..

Colonel Campbell

You are  also told that if you need help you can call another MGS character..

McDonnell Miller

In MGS you fight a Ninja..The Cyborg Ninja. In Metal Gear 2 you also fight a Ninja..

Black Ninja

And just like in MGS, after you fight the Ninja you realize you know him but ...

You thought He was dead

Also, just like in Metal Gear Solid as you go to enter a mine field in this Metal Gear game

A Stranger Calls

And just like in MGS the caller only tells Snake that he is

So far this game is pretty good.

I'm curious to see how many more elements in this game was carried over to Metal Gear Solid.

I'll keep you posted. Thanks for reading Pixlbit.

Speaking of the Cyborg Ninja, did you know there is a go-kart racing game on the Game Boy Advance called Konami Krazy Racers, and one of the playable characters is a Cyborg Ninja from Metal Gear and there are also Metal Gear-based racetracks in the game?

Hey soo I guess I played the remastered version of this game Tongue Out. I had to look it up but to try this game I have to find the HD Collection on the Vita. Actually I think I own one of the HD's where it has MGS2 and MGS3. I'll check.

I think I saw a retrospective on Metal Gear that mentioned MGS is a lot like MG2.  I still need to play the MG games.  I hadn't touched MG since you told me how to save in MG years ago. Embarassed
