Good morning Pixlpeeps! The end of the month is here which means everyone is hopefully getting ready for BaD. I like this time of year because it can be silly, fun, interesting, and the best of all new content every single day...except the weekends unless you really want to write during that time. Last year I did a 20 days of minifigures post and for this year I have an idea that I want to write about. I may have started planning it out but you good people will have to wait until Wednesday.

Anyways last week I took another game off of Mount Backlog, and it seems that I am getting closer to finishing another, which will count towards my February goal. Let's get started!

Lego Dimensions – PS4

Over the last couple of days I managed to check out the three local .99 Cents Only stores around me as well as another one on the way home from my Aunt's house and I have basically completed Wave 1 of the minifigures. The only ones I am missing are Wonder Woman Fun Pack, Benny Fun Pack, and the Jurassic World Fun Pack. I should go check my local store later on today if they added any new stock.

As for the game I started it back up with my new minifigures and I played a couple of worlds and I have to say I am lost in this game. I have no idea what is going on, how to unlock things, etc. I play it for about an hour and then I move onto something else. Some things I am getting back into the groove with but looking for gold bricks is a little tricky at times. I preordered the Batman Movie Level Pack so I better get up to speed before the 10th when it is supposed to arrive.

NCAA Football 14 – PS3

I started my third season with Eastern Michigan and man its a lot tougher than previous attempts. The Eagles dropped a heartbreaking loss to Purdue at home after being up by 10 with two minutes left. I sim the defensive side of the ball and the Boilermakers scored a TD and recovered an onside kick to score another TD and then my QB threw an interception to end the game.

The Game I knocked off of Mount Backlog

Batman Arkham Origins – Steam

I don't know if you remember but I bought the Batman games last summer for under $30 bucks I believe (except for Blackgate) and my goal was to play through all of them in what was supposed to be in order except I didn't know Origins was a prequel (I should have noticed the title). Anyways I never played all the way through this game on PS3 but I made sure to finish it now. Overall it felt like a light version of the previous Batman Arkham games. There is a lot of upgrades to do in the skill tree and a ton of side missions along with the main storyline. The boss battles were tough but rewarding, and being able to glide around and pick fights was fun. Seeing the beginnings of the relationship between Bats and Gordon along with Barbara was a nice bonus. I liked it but I did move the game from my laptop to the Steam drive and I will get back to it most likely after I finish Arkham Knight. I left the side missions in all the games to play after Knight. Arkham Origins is a fun play through but pick it up when its cheap.

So at current count I finished Telltale's Batman, and now Batman Origins. 2017 looks like the year of Batman.

Star Wars The Force Unleashed – Steam

I stopped playing this game for months for no reason but I am back to playing the full game (I completed the PSP version) and I dig it. It took maybe a minute or two to get the controls but after that I was running around taking out both Empire and Rebel troops, looking for goodies, and using the force. I don't think I am very far into the game, maybe the second or third level in but I want to play through this game and then jump into the sequel.

The graphics are showing their age but its a really cool story about how Vader had a secret apprentice who had a team of him, his robot, and an Imperial pilot as they go to different parts of the galaxy taking out the remaining Jedi. Heck this should be a one off flick like Rogue One.

Rise of the Tomb Raider – Steam

This past weekend I played a lot of this game to the point where after checking online to see where I am at in the story, I am basically close to the end of the game. It's amazing how when I played Uncharted I called it boy Tomb Raider with movie like moments, and now after playing this game I'm calling it Girl Uncharted with a lot of movie like moments. Younger gritty Lara roaming around taking out folks and animals to create new items is entertaining but at the same time it doesn't feel like the older games. The puzzle solving is still there but it seems like the developers saw the success of the Uncharted franchise and tried to shift this game and the last Tomb Raider towards it. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed the series, but since it is supposed to be the story of the younger Lara Croft there have been some changes.

The one change I do like that was brought over from the last game was the ability to jump to certain parts of the game through checkpoints disguised at campsites. This is really handy especially since there are a number of side missions to take advantage of.

Skateboard Party 3 Feat. Greg Lutzka – Windows

If you miss the original Tony Hawk games and have a couple of bucks to burn (heck I also believe the ad supported version is free) than give this game a try. You are Greg Lutzka and you skate through various levels where you have to complete certain objectives to unlock the next level (sound familiar?)

The objectives are easy, you have the usual look for the letters to spell out a word (its always PARTY), grind on an object, score a certain number of points on a trick, you get the idea. To unlock the next level you have to hit a certain amount of objectives and you get to do it all over again in a new place.

The universe is reminiscent of early PS1 with clean graphics, the soundtrack is ok but it is a bunch of bands I don't know playing music I don't like

Tony Hawk killed with Goldfinger's Superman

The game has a bunch of unlockable characters where you can upgrade and customize

The controls are similar to TH, its easy to pick up and play especially because the tutorial makes you learn the moves before you jump into the game. Since it is also a mobile game there are added features that speed up the process of the game like buying the ability to unlock every level right away, double EXP points, and bundles of EXP.

I haven't checked if this game is available on iOS or Android, but if you have a Windows 10 PC, and want to try out a TH clone that is solid but not quite as smooth at the early TH series, check this one out. You can't go wrong because its free. The full game cost I believe $2.

Alright Pixlpeeps I am off. Have a good week, I shall see what you guys/gals/little green men offer up this Wednesday to start BaD.

That's all for now, more later!

I liked Origins as well. Most of the criticism of that game seemed to be it was too similar to the previous entries. I'm fine with that. Enjoyed the Deathstroke battle as well.

I've been debating whether I should get Rise of the Tomb Raider or Uncharted 4. Leaning towards the latter, since I've played the first Tomb Raider. Er, the 2013 Tomb Raider.

I haven't tried Uncharted 4 but if its like the previous games than you're in for a treat. Tomb Raider is a fine game too but I think I had more fun with Uncharted.

Yeah, I'm also thinking of the Nathan Drake Collection, which is $20 when not on sale.

I saw the Benny Fun Pack at my 5 & Below store recently.  I hope I get to review the LEGO Batman Movie Story Pack.  And see the movie as well!

I need to check out my local store again to see if they added anything new. I'd like to complete Wave1 just so I can have the full launch set.

I thought Batman Return to Arkham for XBO/PS4 included Origins but it doesn't. I've heard it's worth playing though.

I think that set has just Asylum, and City. One of the reasons I bought the games on PC is because they were re-releasing them on PS4 and the price of the games on PC dropped. Give Origins a shot.
