Don't Take it Personal (BaD)

I'll be reading and commenting and maybe blogging at a regular pace in February. I just can't afford to participate in BaD seriously. Maybe I'll end up posting short blogs every day anyway, but with the potential workload, I'll probably just be active the first few days and then get buried in grades ... and then disputes about grades that range from "I see where you're coming from, I did overlook that; I'll review it again and maybe add a couple points" to "You cannot be f%$#*ing serious. HOW do you think this deserves better? If it wasn't my policy not to do it, I'd lower your grade from what I gave it if anything."

Anyway, the point is, don't take it personally if I don't like, comment, subscribe your BaD blogs. Not that you would.

Here's a panda cat:

Your job sounds rough.

It isn't now that I'm used to it and have changed my expectations a bit. The first year teaching is generally hell because you're not sure how to plan your classes, constantly worried about whether you're doing enough, and you have this idea of being a great teacher and it's just not going to happen out of the gate.

In some ways maybe I've become too lax or nonchalant, but it's a lot better than wracking myself with guilt to the point of having a medical disorder. I feel A LOT better than I did last year. This job comes with a lot of freedom and free time, you just have to be careful about how you use it. It certainly beats teaching high school or middle school where the admins are constantly up your ass. If anything my problem at times is having too much freedom.

To me it might be like a mac n' cheese on pizza situation. It's cool and exotic the first time, but ... yeah, I need a better analogy.

Maybe panda cats are delicious is what I'm not really trying to say. Where am I?

That's a weird cat-bear.  Or is it a bear-cat?

The Google search was for panda cat ... what it actually is, I have no idea.

I'm sure the miracles of modern science can make the panda cat happen. Laughing

Yeah, I'm going to try, but I'm not going to freak out if I don't manage to do it. I have other commitments - Beau, running, actually playing games, work, photography, Beau, spending some time with Jason, remembering to feed the cat, Beau, etc.

What about Beau?  Dont u have to look after him too?

Beau is BAE.

I don't care that that last sentence makes me sound like a 14 year old girl. I'm not taking it back.

It's interesting hearing about your teaching. I've been contemplating teaching. I really admire teachers, but I feel I'm too shy for it. I used to skip class if I had to give a talk.

There are a lot of teachers who are shy in their personal lives. You do have to fight that for about an hour though.

Possibly good news is these days they want you to have the kids being more active so you talk less. I don't always live up to that, but that's the new school ideal I was trained on.

I'm just bad at initiating conversation. I think I'm the lone writer type. I'd have to be forced into it.

Panda cat thinks I should take this personal. Tongue Out It's all good, just as long as you enjoy the BaD. I'm usually late in commenting anyways so no big deal.
