Games Beaten

-Pokémon Sun (3DS)

There is something strangely compelling about Pokémon. This was an easy game. Not until the end did I have some truly challenging battles but I still put in over 45 hours almost without realizing it. Catching monsters is fun and there are plenty to customize your team with. The game looks very nice and has a great soundtrack. The story is fine but that's never been the draw of the series. It was just a really pleasant game to play and there's plenty more to do if I feel like it.

-Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Ultimate Evil Edition (PS4)

It seems to me that Diablo III can be as deep of a game as you want it to be. My wife and I played online with a friend and it wasn't on the lowest difficulty but we didn't turn it up that far. It was a great game to just hang out and chat and kill some demons. It was a little button mashy that way but it was fun. And there is so much more game if we ever decide to come back and play it (i.e., all of Adventure Mode).

Games Bought

My only new game in January was Gravity Rush 2 (PS4) (more on that later)...in addition to the obligatory PS+ games, of course. Day of the Tentacle Remastered (PS4/Vita) is definitely the highlight of the month, with Titan Souls (PS4/Vita) and The Swindle (PS4/PS3/Vita) both looking pretty interesting. The others—This War of Mine: The Little Ones (PS4), Azkend 2: The World Beneath (PS4/Vita), and BlazeRush (PS3)—well...meh. Batting 500 is pretty good.

Now Playing

-Gravity Rush 2 (PS4)

The original Gravity Rush was the first game I played on my Vita and so far this sequel has not disappointed. Falling every which way has never been so much fun.

It's really pretty too

-Magicka 2 (PS4) (PS+)

On the surface this game is really goofy and has had some legitimately funny moments, but underneath that it's pretty deep too. My wife and I are playing it together and having a blast. I can only imagine how crazy it must be with four players at once Surprised

-Shantae (GBC - 3DS VC)

I've been slowly playing this game on my lunch break at work. Interesting structure. I've beaten the first labyrinth.

-God Eater 2: Rage Burst (PS4)

After a hiatus in December I'm back to slaying giant monsters. 62 story missions down, only 100 more to go!

-Splatoon (Wii U)

I need to spend more time with this. Nearly to level 10, which is when ranked matches unlock.

-Destiny: Rise of Iron (PS4)

Progress has slowed to a crawl thanks to Gravity Rush 2 and my brother who I play this with being sick this last week. But progress is still being made...slowly...slowly...slowly...

* * *

And that's BaD Day 1! Just 19 more to go.

are u gonna get the new Shantae game?

I'm intrigued by Gravity Rush, but haven't been buying a lot of new games.  I'll wait a couple months on this one.

I have all the other Shantae games digitally, so I'll probably get the new one at some point but I should really play the others first lol. And I definitely recommend either of the Gravity Rush games. Good stuff.

Gravity Rush 2 and Into the Woods were new games I had my eye on in January, but I'm saving some money for Horizon: Zero Dawn. If somehow that game gets terrible reviews, I might get GR2 instead.

I've been making sure to buy all the PS+ games even for PS3 and Vita again, but with sales on PS Store, I've honestly been flat out buying more games. It's become a bad habit.

Magika 2 sounds interesting. Might have to look that one up.

I...have nothing to add to the conversation. Just bought a PS4 last month, so kinda behind the times for the most part.
