Don't feel too BaD about last year.
Looking forward to that VR editorial. Want to say I saw M Joshua from plus10damage post something about Super Hot on Facebook. I don't remember what that game is though.

So, I tried the Blog a Day thing last year, and like so many of us, I petered out before the end of the month. Not sure why, besides time being a factor. I’m back this year, and my goal is to see this through to the end. I have more time on my hands now, and I have a lot of things to write about. I also think that the key to BaD is writing smaller, easily digestible pieces instead of every blog turning into a thousand-word essay.
Of course, I’m notoriously long winded, so we’ll see how well I stick to that point.
In this blog, I want to lay out some of the things I plan on talking about as BaD progresses, as well as other things I have in the hopper. At the forefront of that is getting back to an at least semi regular output here at PixlBit. I love this little website, and I always feel bad that, just as we started to get a lot of people joining the community, our collective output went down the tubes. You should go back and look at my stuff from around 2012. Tons of reviews and articles from me, and that was true of the whole staff. I look at page views on my stuff from then and compare it to now and it’s just a drop in the bucket of what was.
I have things I want to write, and hopefully I’ll be knocking one of those out today. I have reviews I want to write for Super Hot, Firewatch, and Virginia. I also have a companion piece to go with my Mass Effect feature from a little ways back. I’d also like to write an editorial about VR. Super Hot will likely be the first of those pieces to get written, as I feel so strongly about that game. Just check out the latest episode of Nerds Without Pants for proof of that.
Beyond that, I have a lot of changes and new things I plan on adding to my life, and it would be nice to chronicle some of that here during BaD. I’m trying to get into meal prep to really make a big change to the way I eat. I want to start weight training and get back on the DDP Yoga track. I’m also laying the groundwork for creating a YouTube channel, which has involved a lot of research and consuming an alarming amount of YouTube videos to see what works and what doesn’t.
I’m also going to do my best to not try and make a BaD pun with every blog. As someone who believes that puns are the highest form of humor this will be very difficult.
dude man, the first time I played it I made it about 30 or 40 minutes... but I was sick for about an hour afterwards, wanting to puke. I never puked but I felt terrible. I haven't gone back since, but I REALLY want to because it was fun. I'm wondering if it was an isolated incident or if that motion sickness is inherent in that game.
Lat year, BaD happened shortly after my grandmother died, and as I was very close to her (she raised me until I was seven), I just wasn't able to get into the mood to blog. This year, I'm in a better frame of mind.
Looking forward to your Firewatch review, we'll see how it compares to mine .
And yes, puns are awesome!
