I may or may not have waited until 6am this morning to finish grading papers I was supposed to hand back Monday. Really gotta check this professorial senioritis of mine before something I do looks bad on a resume. We're good for now though, I got those handed back today. Might have been less careful with time cause they all got 100s either way, just marked up their writing and showed them what they WOULD get were it later in the semester.

Anyway, part of why I procrastinated is that I've been playing Psychonauts. I'm already further in than I ever got on Steam and in way less time playing on my PS4. I got stuck trying to get past a "road crew" member inside a conspiracy theorist's head. I love this game's humor.

In other gaming-related news, a friend posted this meme on Facebook, making fun of how young whoever made this must have been.

I said if you're going to have a PSX controller at least include N64, and from there was birthed a very long thread about how awesome the Dreamcast was.

Only other thing to report is I got fitted for contacts and taught some classes today. Need to print off copies of the tests my students are taking tomorrow.

Maybe I'll just wake up early and do it.

I'm actually still in my office cause I had to tweak a short answer test into a mostly MC one.

Takes longer than you'd think.

Psychonauts won my Game of the Year award back in 2005.

I enjoy it so far.

I bought Psychonauts (PS2) many years and still hadn't played it.

I wanted to play it so badly when it released, but it was never on GCN.

Thanks! I think we all tend to procrastinate. Especially when there's no immediate threat of not getting something done on time ... until there is.

It's maybe not the greatest game in the world mechanically, but it's such a great world/story and has many unique ideas.

Psychonauts, wow I haven't played that in forever. I bought it originally on the PS2 because I think a podcast said it was a heck of a game and a steal at $20, so I bought it but never got deep into the game.

Oh those controllers make me sad because the controller that got me into gaming only had an A and B buttons and the controller was a rectangle. Thanks Nintendo.

Dreamcast was awesome! I got to it long after its glory years but damn with the regular released titles, to being able to play homebrew games and it being able to run emulators for the SNES and NES, it was an all in one for me for a bit.

Yeah, hearing Dreamcast stories makes me wish that console had done better.

I started with NES and SNES too, thanks to an older brother.

You know it wasn't bad. It must have been a time when I was playing a bunch of games and I never put the time in to enjoy it, or get into it enough to enjoy it.

I loved Psychonauts! I had it for the Xbox. Rumor has it that the PS2 port was kind of on the buggy side. I got stuck on that same thing when I played it, by the way. And you have to listen carefully to all the things that are being said, beause I swear I heard "That woman has very large breasts" at one point.

I never finished the game, the meat circus level defeated me, but otherwise, I really loved it.

Now I'm stuck putting the plays/stages together the right way in the next level. Too many variables.

And oh yeah. there have been a few lines in the main story dialogue I'm surprised they let slide. I got a kick out of everyone talking about TV and hacky sack when they went brainless ... while I play a game on my TV, in silence.
