BaD: Let Your Heart Be Your Galdin Quay

I finally made it out of the Steyliff Grove dungeon in FFXV. I did not realize when I went into it that it was 100 floors long and filled with Tonberrys.

In my headcanon, Ignis keeps a journal. Here is one of his entries:

Day 5.

Still stuck in Steyliff Grove dungeon. Our rations of curatives and food stuffs are running low. We may have to resort to eating Cup Noodles at the next campfire. This is the lowest point of my life. I am more than boiling water.

Gladio is in his element. Floor after floor of deamons. I should have known better than to listen to his reasoning of "Let's just open the door and do this so we don't have to come all the way back down here." I think the Tonberrys might be getting to him.

Prompto has forgotten what the sun looks like. He was also very worried about the chocobos we left outside, saying that we did not tell them we would be gone so long. He doesn't realize their rental period ended days ago. They, too, have forgotten about us.

Noctis merely wants to fish. He gave up on trying to get a phone signal to play King's Knight. Every morning we wake up, I have to remind him that we are too far in to turn back now. I conceal my tears at his dissapointment.

If I pick up one more rusted bit instead of a curative, I may go insane. What I wouldn't give for a pair of clean socks.

Onward. Onward indeed.

Poor Ignis. At least I got a nice lance for him to use at the end of it all. I really, really like this game. And since it took 10 years to develop and cost me about $100, I'm pretty glad that I do.

I picked up Yoshi's Woolly World for the 3DS yesterday and it is adorable and super fun. I'll write a better blog about it tomorrow. For now, I have some fish to catch.

The last game i payed $100 for was ARKHAM KNIGHT w season pass. Did you but a special edition FFXV?

Yoshi's Wooly world does look cute.

I don't know why, but the cup noodles in your head Canon made me think of cowboy bebop.

I bought the special day-one edition, plus the collector's edition of the game guide, plus the season pass. Because Final Fantasy, lol. They know I'm a sucker for anything in a special tin.

Cup Noodles is such a huge plug in the game. You actually do a whole mission just for it. It was annoying but now I just find it funny.

Thanks! I usually write serious stuff when I write my fiction, but I couldn't resist how frustrated I was being stuck underground literally for days, haha.

I've written character journals before, actual hand written journals. Maybe I'll do one for Ignis.

King's Knight?  Can you play that in the game?

Not in the game, but I believe they launched a mobile game to accompany the release of FF XV.

In the game you can play a pinball type game called Justice Monsters Five, for which you can win prizes. I played it once and never touched it again.

This was immensely entertaining.

Thanks, Julian! For you, enjoy.

Day 7

We made it to the end, somehow. In a somber agreement, we had reserved the last of the phoenix downs for Noctis lest he need them. I spent some time in statis because of this. Where did the Tonberrys get light sabers?

The reward at the bottom of the pit was a lance, which Noctis gave to me as thanks for cooking our meals. Again, I held back my tears. Gladio muttered something about lances being for men with smaller muscles. His jealousy overshadowed even the scars on his face.

When we finally reached the dungeon entrance, Prompto pushed the doors open, arms wide to embrace the sun.

It was nighttime.

I told him we should be glad that we were all very much alive. He stopped taking pictures of me for 3 days.

Off to Lestallum. I need more wheat.

Character journals. Interesting idea. I'm going to think about that.

It's actually a really fun way to write. I like to get an actual journal and write it as if it were a diary. The last one I finished out was Athos from the BBC version of The Musketeers.

I like that idea.
