The original Pirates! is a cult classic, often named as one of the best games of all time. It was a strategic adventure game which allowed you to play as a swash-buckling pirate. The remake capitalizes on all the great parts of the original. The story is that you're trying to find your lost family members as well as trying to find the bad guy to get revenge on him. Along the way, you'll need to find pieces of a map. You can choose a specific time period before you begin as well as specific skills for your character. By working for certain countries, you can increase in rank by defeating enemy ships. By defeating pirates, you'll gain fame. The meat of the game is in the ship battles, land battles, and sword duels. You can also dance with the governor's daughter in order to get extra rewards. So there's a lot to do in the game, and overall it let's you feel like a pirate. Aargh!!!

I loved the remake on the Xbox. I still have it and will probably never trade it. It's always good for a replay.

I always think of Peter Pan for PC whenever I see those old PC graphics.

Dude, I played this as a kid! Loved it too. We also had the "Around the World in 80 Days" game which was just like this one. Good times.

I have this game on the XB.  I liked it at first, but it got very repetitive.
