The NES Duck Tales game is a huge cult classic. It plays like a hybrid of Mario and Mega Man with precision platforming and excellent level design all crafted into the wonderful world of the Duck Tales universe. The remake by WayForward is nothing short of a masterpiece. The hand-drawn animation is gorgeous; the gameplay is perfectly tuned to the original; the soundtrack builds on the amazing themes from the game; and the original voice actors even reprise their roles! WayForward went all-out with this remake, and it shines as a great example of how to remake a classic game. For anyone who grew up on the NES game, this remake is a huge nostalgia trip. With a brand-new Duck Tales cartoon on the horizon, here's hoping that we'll see another great DT game on consoles soon!

Also, that music!

Still never played the original. Would probably play it first instead of jumping to the remake like some people would, just because NES game is more visually cohesive. Those 3D backgrounds are terrible and clash. Would still play it though just to see what was added/changed.

It's just dawned on me that I can't think of many PC game remakes. A couple of the Ultima games have been remade, and X-Com was given a reboot but not a remake. But I can't think of anything else.

Sometimes the 3D backgrounds do clash, but I wouldn't call them terrible. The art is really beautiful in the remake. I would recommend playing the original first as it will cause you to appreciate the remaster even more.

I have no nostalgia for the original, but I have been told so many times how great this remake is.

If I see it on sale for $5, I'll get it, same as Shovel Knight. I just can't bring myself to pay $15 when I can get LEGO games from a year ago for $5 on sale. Strider remake was another great $5 download for me.

Wait a sec, you haven't played Shovel Knight??? You have not LIVED until you have played that game!!! Seriously, I'm not exaggerating, no price is too high for SK, probably the best indie game in the last five years.

I've beaten it on Steam and want it for ps4 but not until a price drop.

I loved the original DuckTales on NES, and I love the remake, too.  It's basically my childhood in video game form.  Having most of the original voice cast really made the game.  I hope the new DuckTales cartoon is good.

Also, R.I.P. to Alan Young, the original voice of Scrooge McDuck.  I would imagine DuckTales Remastered was one of his last roles.

I would love it if WayForward did a Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers Remastered.

Gaps! Chip n' Dale Remastered sounds awesome! Although, to be honest, I haven't played the NES game, but I know it's good.

I never played the original. I think I own the remake on Steam maybe?  Or is that Mickey Mouse - a game I DID play when I was young?  I'm not sure.  Either way, I think both are beautiful, dammit!  :p

If you own the remake, go play it! Get with it, Matt.

The new game is fun.  I played it more than the NES game.
