This will be a continuing theme for quite a while. You see I own 250 or so wii games (I've lost track by now), and will probably get more and more. Why? Well I can't pass up a cheap game for $5 and bargain bin buys bring out the crazy game collector in me. As such with 250 games and being expanded upon in the future I haven't played em all. But here is the start of a descent into collecting Wii games madness that I embarked upon!

So let's start off with the first title. You're probably thinking "what the heck is that game?". Well my fellow reader that game is 428: Fusa Sareta Shibuya De (literally translated as "428: In a Blockaded Shibuya"). It's a visual novel murder mystery game that goes for outrageous prices online. I got my copy for $20 from a nice Florida man. Since it's a visual novel title It would take me the whole blog to explain the games plot. But it's worth it to play as someone dressed in a giant cat costume! Keep it up Japan!

A boy and his blob is a fantastic reimagining of the NES classic. The hand drawn graphics, the jellybean abilities, a friggin button dedicated to simply hugging the blob... Wayforward who is one of my favorite developers really knocked it out of the park with it. If you haven't played it or the HD versions...you owe it to yourself to do so.

Another Code R: A journey into lost memories is one I extensively reviewed as an excellent bargain bin title awhile ago and my original thoughts still stand. It's a beautiful game and the puzzles are quite fun. It's definitely a long read though as it's a point and click puzzle mystery interactive novel experience. It didn't come to America though so if you want to play it you have to have the means to do so.

Arc Rise Fantasia was developed by former Tales staff members and there is a clear inspiration taken from Tales. Even the main character L'arc looks like he stole his costume from Lloyd Irving. It's your typical jrpg and the battle/weapon system can be pretty fun. However, if you buy this game prepare yourself for lessons in "Masterclass Voice Acting" as the entire cast sounds like they are reading lines straight from the script with little interest or are acted so absurdly that it's laughable...I'm looking at you Nico...

Arctic Tale is based off the National Geographic documentary of the same name. You play as a polar bear and arctic fox. It's relatively short and it's not the hardest game in the world. Still I enjoyed it a little bit...even if I couldn't go around murdering seals... that darn E rating ruining my polar bear experience!!!

Alien Syndrome is a top down shooter/rpg hybrid that looks staright from the PS2...I think it was even a PS2 title. Anyways the game sucks. The graphics are bad, the shooting gets monotonous, and the top down perspective causes a lot of camera issues.

From one crappy game to another. I hate Alone in the Dark...Absolutely despise everything about it. I got the soundtrack edition for $10 which has 8 songs which even if I bought each song for a $1 this game is still $2 more than it should be. The game looks like crap, the pyro puzzles get boring, the controls are horrible, and the driving sections are downright unplayable. On the games only positive...I enjoyed the soundtrack.

Animal Crossing City Folk is pretty fun. It brings Animal Crossing into the city and while it's not as interesting as Wild World or other sequels in the series, it's pretty enjoyable. We can all agree though that it's not the worst. That honor goes to Amiibo Festival!

Batman The Brave and the Bold is based off the tv series of the same name and it's a really fun side-scrolling beat em up.  Once again the folks at Wayforward delivered a fantastic looking game with all the hand drawn details and humor of the show.

Battalion Wars 2 was not a sequel I was asking for necessarily. In fact the original for the Gamecube was an alright game. However, even though I didn't necessarily need a sequel it ceratinly provided a lot of fun. In a long like of strategic battle war sims, Nintendo hits it out of the park. The online was pretty fun too when it was viable. Still even the campaign mode can keep you busy going for S rankings.

Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree is pretty enjoyable. Although it loses some of the shine as the original game since you can't train your brain on the go with the wii version. Still with some family members you could compete to see who is the smartest and it offers some unique features. Not a long game by any stretch, but every once in a while you can have a pretty good time with it.

Bionicle Heroes is a rare Traveller's Tales LEGO-ISH game, but without the Legos. You collect bricks, studs, solve puzzles, swap characters, etc. All like a Lego game, but no Legos are involved with this entry. It's kind of odd to play this game. It's okay though. Nothing to write home about. Of course if I knew anything about Bionicle it might have helped. I believe there was a tv show based on it.

Bit.Trip Complete is just that. It includes all 6 of the Wiiware Bit games that came to the virtual console. They are Bit. Trip Beat, Core, Void, Runner, Fate, and Flux, plus 20 extra challenge levels and it includes a 40 track soundtrack. I bought this for $20...well worth it if you can find it! A heck of a lot of fun!

Blast Works (Aka Blast Works: Build, Trade, Destroy) is another game I covered extensively in my bargain bin buys blogs. Again my opinion of this game couldn't be better. If you're interested in side scrolling shooters like Gradius that includes an extensive level editor...this game is for you. Plus it includes the original Tumiki Fighters (of which this game was based off of),rRootage, Gunroar, and Torus Trooper as unlockables! I spent $5 on this game and it was worth every penny.

Anyways join me again tomorrow for another stack of games!

I loved the A Boy and His Blob remake.  The ending was awesome!  I've met David Crane, the creator of the original game (and Pitfall), twice.

That's awesome you got to meet David Crane. I enjoyed the original as well. I always wondered if had had any input with the remake.

No, he didn't.  I asked him.

I need to play some non-Shantae Wayforward games. I'll start with Ducktales Remastered.

A good start! Do try this game out too if you can!

I want to play A Boy and His Blob. If that Batman game is by Wayforward, I want to play that too. I have Battalion Wars 2. I can't remember if I played it or not, all I know is I want to revisit anything related to Advance Wars. I think it's by some, or all, of the same people.

Yes Battalion Wars 2 is by the advance wars team and intelligent systems in general I believe. It's a pretty cool series. I'm hoping for maybe a next gen advance wars or battalion wars home console game.

Oh heck yes! Why isn't a new Advance Wars out on phones at least?

arg, no! Not Arc Rise Fantasia!  Worst JRPG I have ever come into contact with!  SO freaking bad!!!!

Always wanted to play Boy and His Blob though.

I ironically enjoyed the terrible va's, but yeah there's a lot to not like about it. It's rather generic. Still with the Wii starved for rpgs I wasn't going to be picky. I enjoyed the weapon variety and tetris like block mechanic though.
