The Waiting Room, it sucks. A bunch of people sitting close to each other, a room filled with awkward silence with the occasional small talk. That’s pretty much every waiting room I’ve encountered and last week was no different. The only thing that changed was the guy with the Vita with odd movements trying to shoot down things on their screen. Yeah after being “That Guy” for a couple of minutes I decided to take my odd movements outside.
I decided to play this game. The only things I heard about it was that it involves a lot of the PS Vita’s features. At first glance I thought this game would probably do a better job of it than how developers did of shoehorning it into Uncharted. I thought the games would be easy and I could knock out a couple of levels before it was time to go. I was wrong. The first level I played involved using the back touchpad and at times I got a bit confused on the direction I was supposed to go. After a couple of tries I got the hang of it and it became quite enjoyable…but I still had a couple of WTF moments.
When it came time to play the next level where I looked like the crazy guy in the corner. In this level the game the scenery around you with the use of the camera. You shoot the bad guys who are taking the little orange creatures. This is a lot of fun, especially if you’re not self conscious about how you look.
From what I’ve played Little Deviants is a lot of fun. The description sounded like a bunch of mini games because it was touting using the features of the Vita, but from what I’ve seen it integrates these features to the gameplay.
Before I looked like a crazy person I played some Hot Shots Golf
I still get a kick out of this game even if I only play it a course at a time. After a hole or two I get back into the swing of things (rimshot). I was hitting balls a little too short in most holes or else I would have hit a lot more birdies.
I ended up winning with a three-stroke lead. I do remember at some point doing the Tiger Woods fist pump after hitting a birdie on a tough hole, which was probably the perfect signal to those around me I was starting to be more animated.
The next game I actually tried out when I got home, and well…I don’t like it
There is just too much talking, using only one sentence bubbles at a time. The worst part is that there isn’t any skipping, which really sucks. I do like the previous games but this portion killed off any excitement I had (that and having to install it twice so I can have trophies on my Vita. I bought the game used, and this is the type of hoops Sony throws at you. Thanks Sony)
I finally got through all that useless dialogue and when well the game is the same, except you can use touch controls. I played the tutorial level, and that was it. I lost interest in the game. I’ll probably go back to it eventually, but that opening sequence really soured me on the game.
Looks like NAMCO is also watermarking screenshots
Origin finally got it’s act together and added all the goodness from the iOS version to the Android version
I now can use my iOS Springfield/info/other randoms onto my Nexus 7. With this big update, the makers also added Whacking Day
Now I can take part in the fun of whacking snakes with a stick, and got me interested in taking part in my version of Springfield. Before I would just check it once or twice a day, but now it’s every four hours like before. You basically play a mini game within the game, where you collect snakes, and snake eggs. The snake eggs you leave in your friend’s towns, and if you unlock the Whacking license, you can whack snakes in your friend’s towns. I’m doing a thing where depending on how many snakes I whack in my friend’s house, I would leave them the same amount of eggs.
These are the prizes you can unlock depending on how many snakes you collect. So far I unlocked Fort Sensible, and the Whacking License. I want what looks like Isotope Stadium.
The one drawback from the update is the game makers limit how much you can have in your town. I had to get rid of my border houses, trees, barbed wire fence, and schrubs along with my little campground to get under the 3,000 building/decorations limit.
A couple of the things the characters say because of Whacking Day
Another game I’m playing that decided to update (and it took a long time to update) is Real Racing
There hasn’t been much progression, just still saving up cash so I can get into the pro circuit. The one thing I noticed that has been added is that there are info bubbles about the repairs and service.
This game has been fun/frustrating/challenging but I still don’t get why a lot of people love to play it on Facebook. I spend 5-10 minutes playing and then I’m done.
I tried out Mag
And after waiting forever and a day of it updating and installing, I played the training mission and I was done. I’m debating if I should just erase my data, or give it another chance.
The final game I played is NCAA Football
I finished my second season as Western Kentucky’s Head Coach. The crazy miracle season, as the Hilltoppers went undefeated with three of the big contributors being freshman.
I had a Cornerback win the Heisman
And they easily took down Alabama (again) for the National Title. My defense forced four interceptions, and a fumble return for a touchdown. When it came time to sign an extension, my coach was only offered a 1-year extension. What? I thought that was nuts and decided to move on to another team.
I decided on Arizona State because they were one of the handfuls of schools that offered a 3-year deal, had a ton of uniform combinations, and were in a BCS conference. I finished my first game with the Sun Devils, beating Syracuse. I’ll probably play one or two seasons of this before waiting for the next NCAA Football game.
PICKUPS
I bought more CDs. I went to the local mom & pop and they had a lot of new stuff on their $1.99 Buy 10 get 5 free wall. I also picked up a couple of $3.99 CDs, and the top line is the new CDs I bought from various spots. Apparently I already own the Allison Krauss CD. I really need to start looking at my list when I’m buying CDs.
Yep I bought this off of iTunes. I find this song hilarious because it seems Ray J’s career has gone down since the tape, while Kim K’s has well…did she have a career before it?
I finally found the “Marilyn” Lego Minifig. In fact I bought two. I decided to actually spend some time and feel the packs, and bought two just in case. At worst they would have been the Forest Maiden. I only need the waiter and this would be my first complete series. Of course I heard that the new series is already at Target, so I might just have to buy the figure online.
Added another jersey to the collection
And I found three super cheap New Era’s. I think the most expensive was the Jordan cap at $12. The other two were at a local sports store for $9 each.
Before I call it a blog I found my old marching band cap while cleaning out some stuff in the garage
I think I got this my freshman year at SDSU.
Last night was the end of the first weekend of Coachella, and the only thing I wanted to watch over the online stream was the Wu Tang Clan
Well that’s all for now, more later!
