I wasn't as big a fan of DBZ growing up, but when I learned there was an original Dragon Ball series I liked the humor.

Hiya everyone, how are you? Now we are gonna move back to anime for a while. Dragon Ball Z has always been one of my favorite anime series since I was a kid. I really love it. I remember coming home from school and just dropping my backpack to rush to my room to see it on Toonami. It was such a blast. When I heard that they were making a new DBZ movie called Battle of the Gods, you can bet I was excited. I didn't see it when it released though. I saw it for the first time last year, actually it was the first new anime/movie I saw last year. So here's my thoughts on DBZ: Battle of the Gods...
So the movie starts out with Whis, waking up Beerus, the god of destruction a long sleep, and finds out that Freeza was defeated by a Saiyan. The Oracle Fish foretold that a Super Saiyan god would appear before Beerus. Beerus then travels to Earth to track down Goku cause he was the one who defeated Freeza in hopes to find this Super Saiyan God.
They track down Goku on King Kai's planet and Beerus challenges Goku. Goku powers up to Super Saiyan 3 and challenges Beerus, but Goku is no match for Beerus and is defeated in 2 strikes. Beerus ends up disappointed in the challenge, so he then goes to Earth to find stronger opponents.
I really enjoyed the movie. The look of the characters are basically the same, but look much more cleaner and more modernized I think? But it looks so clean and the animation looks really fluid. Especially during the fights. The music is really good too. There's alot of funny moments, which I personally think stays true to the series, alot of them had me laughing.
It's definitely a big nostalgia trip for older fans of the anime, but definitely think it's also a pretty good movie for newer fans trying to get into the anime and see what's it like. It might spoil a few plot points, but it really depends if you wanna go back and watch hundreds of episodes or compromise and watch an almost 2 hour movie.
I really can't give away more, but if there is one thing I can show you, it's probably my favorite scene that I loved is this...
Never ever would I thought in a million years that I'd see Vegeta make a fool of himself. That's the highlight of the movie for me. It's just so hilarious seeing a character like him acting all goofy and happy.
I never get tired of that gif. So those are my thoughts on DBZ: Battle of the Gods. If you're a fan of DBZ and anime, then give it a go. The post was short, but didn't want to give much away. Thanks for reading and...
