Good morning Pixlpeeps! For the next couple of days there is going to be a lot on my plate and I don't know if I will be able to post songs for my BaD Island Mix so I figured right before I jump into that madness I will just post the next three songs today. Sound like a plan? Good, here are my next three picks for my Island Mix:

Day 11 Song 11

Candy Dulfer feat. Dave Stewert – Lily Was Here

Now I think I was in the 6th grade when this song was released and I was going into my second year in marching band, and I thought it was the coolest thing to hear my instrument as the feature on the radio but have it played by a girl (the sax line in my school was all guys, and the clarinets were all girls). It was such a cool song because you can imagine a dirty dive bar while listening to it. My friends and I tried to figure out how to play it, in a bad beginning saxophone kind of way. Years later I finally found the sheet music and played it...in a bad I haven't practiced in years so there's lots of squeaks kind of way.

Day 12 Song 12

The Carpenters – Goodbye To Love

This song is heavily influenced by my parents because they would always play music on weekends and this is one of those songs they would play on what I called the little records (45s). The reason why I picked this Carpenters song instead of any other song in their library is because this is the one song that has an electric guitar. As much as I love the harmonies they made, the guitar always stuck out because you wouldn't think it fit with the Carpenters sound, but the way they used it made it feel natural. Karen Carpenter had an amazing voice.

Day 13 Song 13

The Bamboos feat. Megan Washington – Eliza

I forgot how I stumbled upon this song but it quickly became one of my favorites. The sound is a throwback but the vocals are what sold it for me. I love Megan's voice and this song is what a good pop song should be: killer voice, good lyrics, and one hell of band bringing everything together. For under four minutes I can get lost in this song and not pay attention to the world.

Alright folks, I need to get going but I hope you all have a wonderful week/weekend!

That's all for now, more later!

Yup. They had a documentary  on PBS last summer going over their history. It was interesting.
