Day after VDay, wooo! Candy hearts. I know people hate those, but the chalk dust tastes like tradition to me at this point. They're the most Valentine-specific candy I can think of.
Pro-tip: The big ones tend to be softer/chewier (i.e. not as stale and better).
Yet more progress was made in Rise of the Tomb Raider and after picking up all the goodies I could find on the map in the Soviet Installation (I wish challenges were marked on the map, I do enjoy burning Russian propoganda ... unintentionally topical ... ) I am finally advancing the story again with Jacob and the local villagers preparing for war.
Exciting stuff.
"I spent all that time doing an elaborate side quest (which I think might have been DLC in the non-anniversary version) and all I got was this stupid hat." - Lara Croft, Tomb Raider
I've been grading 9 audio projects a night this week and I think it's helped my sanity not doing all of it over the weekend like I used to. This may be the first time I've had this much to grade and actually have a weekend. Just have to keep it up and not lose track of actually lesson planning and grading other classes.
Some of my students are already getting on my nerves with ... things they do. It's the minority, most are fine, but this is not the semester to be testing my patience. The good news is I'll likely get more exercise in to blow off steam. I ran a 5k on the treadmill yesterday (shiting from 7mph to 4mph every so often) in only 31 minutes, which for someone who hasn't run at all in a while, I'd say is pretty decent. I'm not going to reach my PR of 23:35 5K time in the near future, but I'm not starting out from as far back as I thought.
Whelp, back to work.
