Day after VDay, wooo! Candy hearts. I know people hate those, but the chalk dust tastes like tradition to me at this point. They're the most Valentine-specific candy I can think of.

Pro-tip: The big ones tend to be softer/chewier (i.e. not as stale and better).

Yet more progress was made in Rise of the Tomb Raider and after picking up all the goodies I could find on the map in the Soviet Installation (I wish challenges were marked on the map, I do enjoy burning Russian propoganda ... unintentionally topical ... ) I am finally advancing the story again with Jacob and the local villagers preparing for war.

Exciting stuff.

"I spent all that time doing an elaborate side quest (which I think might have been DLC in the non-anniversary version) and all I got was this stupid hat." - Lara Croft, Tomb Raider

I've been grading 9 audio projects a night this week and I think it's helped my sanity not doing all of it over the weekend like I used to. This may be the first time I've had this much to grade and actually have a weekend. Just have to keep it up and not lose track of actually lesson planning and grading other classes.

Some of my students are already getting on my nerves with ... things they do. It's the minority, most are fine, but this is not the semester to be testing my patience. The good news is I'll likely get more exercise in to blow off steam. I ran a 5k on the treadmill yesterday (shiting from 7mph to 4mph every so often) in only 31 minutes, which for someone who hasn't run at all in a while, I'd say is pretty decent. I'm not going to reach my PR of 23:35 5K time in the near future, but I'm not starting out from as far back as I thought.

Whelp, back to work.

"chalk dust taste" is right.  Is there such a thing as a non-stale one?  I think these were manufactured decades ago.

I wish I could run like you.  I'm still putting together my bike.  It was fun until I got to the seat.  That part was not fun.  But I'm almost done.

There are and they're actually quite chewy and delicious.

When starting out, walk don't run. Or bike slowly. I used to go 3 miles a day when I was first losing weight, but that was a 3mph pace, MAX. Also, dieting is the part that sucks and is more important. SealedCry

I've been using the bike at the gym to warm up before weight machines. I do fifteen minutes with a random set of hills. I try to get to 4 miles because that's the distance between my apartment and the gym, and I hope to bike there one day, but I usually get to about 3.5 miles in the 15 minutes. Then I do it again after the weight machines.

I'd like to start exercising more outdoors again, i just like being able to track my progress and my phone isn't exactly a fitbit.

Yeah not a fan of the candy hearts but its for tradition. I usually stock up on the Dove bite size pieces.

I forgot what you have to find but it unlocks locations on the map. I like roaming around that area and I think I need to find one more flag to cut down to complete that goal.

I need to try to pick up running again. Also tackling the projects a little at a time is a good way to not drive yourself crazy.

I actually like the candy hearts ... maybe I'll buy some today and realize my taste buds have grown past them though.

There's the cutting flags one as well as burning the posters. Something really similar is in the first one, I think the cult in that one had posters made. Which is kind of hilarious to think about, honestly ... especially since they were on a secluded island.

You should, it's a definite mood booster.

I cant stand the candy hearts. I use to eat them when I was a kid but as an adult its just like no. I havent eaten a ton of candy this Valentines which is definitly a good thing. I avoided going shopping for the reason that candy being on sell would have been bad.

I still like em. I also bought two small red heart chocolate boxes, a heart shaped reeses pack, and some ... Actually that was it. Already ate one small chocolate box (250 calories), the reeses, and some chalk hearts. $4.72 w walgreens card.

Man, I love Rise of the Tomb Raider. I need to go back to it. It's a silly thing, but my girlfriend ended up finishing it and got most of the achievements, so there is nothing for me to do other than play the game for myself.

Which SHOULD be reason enough for me, but I do love me some achievements...

I can understand. I might try to platinum this one ... Though if it's like TR Definitive Edition, i really wish they'd make the multiplayer stuff separate as far as earning platinum. I haven't oplayed the multiplayer, i just feel that way about all online games. What if i can't get a trophy because the lobby's always empty, fighting games i bought on sale?!

I wish Xbox had somthing like the Platinum trophy. I don't think there's anything special that happens if you get all the achievements in a game.

Looks like I've been doing 5.6 km on the bike before and after weights. Maybe too much?

I honestly couldn't tell you. When my Kines doctorate friend have me this routine, it involved 30 minutes on an incline walking fast every other day, not a 5k. Bike is different from running, since you can cover more distance without necessarily exerting more effort. Not knocking bike at all, just saying my roommate ain't gonna go 20 miles on foot every now and again like he does biking.

It's probably not too much. I was just hoping so I'd have more time for chips. Seriously though, I don't eat chips anymore. Ever.
