Another day again. Another batch of games my friends!

Red Steel 1 & 2. Red Steel was a somewhat fun, but ultimately fairly hit and miss launch game released on launch day for the Wii. The gunplay is an arcade style fun shoot em up, while the swordplay is a bit to be desired. The story is fairly simple. Your girlfriend has been kidnapped by gangsters and you have to rescue her. Red Steel 2 meanwhile adds in a plot where you play as a gunslinging ninja cowboy who is left out in te desert to die and it's your job to take on the gang and run em out of town. The game adds the motion plus and the swordplay and gunplay are much more improved. The missions can get very repetitive though.

Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition gives you all the fantastic editions that RE4 got across the multiplatform consoles it was on. The motion controls are solid and the game is still just as good as you remember. There are various editions of RE4, so if you somehow haven't gotten a copy on some platform, you're missing out on the last great RE game before 7 turned things around

Resident Evil Darkside and Umbrella Chronicles are on rails shooting games that are Resident Evil games. In Umbrella Chronicles you'll take on the stories of RE Zero, 1, and 3 as well as an extra segment that's entirely new. With Darkside Chronicles you'll get to relive RE 2, RE Code Veronica, and an exclusive South American Mission when Leon was working for the President. Both are pretty fun and each has little extras to collect like archives and sub missions (in darkside chronicles one extra mission you unlock tasks you to survive a horde of Tofu... a nice nod to the series)

Rhythm Heaven Fever is fun, crazy, and surprisingly simple. You never press more than one or two buttons in time to the rhythm of the beat whether it's a golf swing practice segment, corporate meeting, wrestling interview, etc. It's a heck of a lot of fun and a great rhythm game!

Rune Factory Frontier was the first home console Rune Factory game and it did not disappointy. Serving as a spiritual upgrade of sorts to the original rune factory there's plenty to do in Frontier. You can live life as a farmer or go dungeon crawling, or go about wooing the ladies. There's a lot involved in the Harvest Moon/dungeon crawler hybrid and it worked wonderfully. I sunk in 80 hours into this and the next entry.

I covered Tides of Destiny a couple months ago and I enjoyed it a lot. It's not like Frontier however. There is an overhauled combat engine which is okay, but there is often times lag when too many monsters are on screen and there is no way to block or defend yourself from stun locks. The overall farming aspects is also much more streamlined and made practically by itself and whether or not you consider that a good thing is up to you.

Rygar the Battle of Argus is a Wii remake/port of a PS2 in Rygar the legendary Adventure and it intself is a long way more advanced thant that of the original Rygar on the NES. My guess is they wanted to re-release it due to being outdone by God of War and the fact remains is that when it did get re-released it still managed to get outdone by God of War. It was fairly average, but not terrible.

Saint is a side scrolling shoot em ep and is a fairly budget title. And that's about all I can say about this game. It doesn't even take an hour long to beat and the story is nonsensical.

Sakura Wars So Long, My Love is a strategy RPG mixed with a dating simulator. It's about as anime as anime can get with various typical anime tropes and scenarios as well as a evil taking control to destroy the world (of course!) If you're a fan of dating sims or strategy rpgs give it a shot.

Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space/Season 1. For all intents and purposes it's essentially Sam & Max Seaon 1 & 2 that got a physical release for the Wii. They aren't perfect ports by any means, but both aree really solid titles. Some control issues and odd slow down make it a tad frustrating.

Finally for the last game of the day comes Samba de Amigo and as perfect as shaking 2 wii remotes around as maracas or a wii remote/nunchuk may sound...the game was not that good control wise. I have the original Samba de Amigo for the Sega Dreamcast. I have the maracas. That was so much better. The Wii Port/remake is just bleh.

I have Sakura Wars.  I hadn't played it yet.  I didn't know it was a dating sim.  I just thought it looked cool and bought it.

I have Umbrella Chronicles. I'm interested in on-rails shooters especially for the Wii, where I think it might work well with the controllers.

For some reason, Rygar on PS2 reminded me of Rampage, since you break lots of buildings and pillars with that yo-yo weapon.  Good mindless fun.

I reviewed that Sakura Wars game a long time ago.  The lady who kept her horse in her apartment was funny.

Those Sam & Max games are so good. I miss old school TellTale.

Yeah, Samba de Amigo was way better on Dreamcast, surprisingly.  I still have my maracas!  Only cool thing about the Wii version was that Ulala was in it.

I remember wanting to play Red Steel when it came out but I had no wii and it received average reviews.

I have RE4 HD on Steam, but I have to lower the frame rate so it runs. I might just find the GCN version.

Rythm Heaven has a DS title right? I might look for that.

I remember renting Rygar on PS2 and got stuck. I had no idea there was an NES game until that remake came out.

I used to play the hell out of NES Rygar.  Cool game.
