I really enjoyed participating in BaD this year and I hope you guys did too. We looked at a bunch of great remakes, so I thought we could end out the month by seeing everyone's favorite remakes. You can choose one we looked at or one I didn't do (because there's a lot of great remakes out there). This doesn't have to be the best remake, simply your personal favorite. So please share and explain why you love it so much. Thank you, guys!

It's a cliche, but definitely the Gamecube Resident Evil remake. Took one of my favorite games, vastly improved the graphics, and added a whole new layer of puzzles and challenge.

You know what I like is the Gamecube remake of Skies of Arcadia. I bought it a couple years ago meaning to play it but I haven't gotten to it.  I really should though.

There are a lot of remakes that I like.  Donkey Kong for Game Boy is still one of the best arcade updates to this day.  I also really liked the updated Pac-Man games such as Pac-Man Arrangement Arcade and Pac-Man Championship Edition.  Also, the original PSOne Klonoa game was remade for the Wii and it was great.  It's a shame it didn't sell well.  If there was one gaming franchise that deserved a second chance, it's Klonoa!

Just going by Wikipedia's list, my favorites are

Twin Snakes (GCN) - came out when I was old enough to play it after having to settle for watching my brother or sneaking small sessions. Enjoyed graphical update.

Sonic Adventure 2: Battle (GCN) - Never played original, but always though SA1 on friend's Dreamcast was fun. Dug the Shadow and Sonic levels, sometimes played multiplayer.

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition (PS4) - Dug this and my original Steam copy.

At some point, I'll likely buy Uncharted Collection and play those games for the first time.

Resident Evil Remake is the best and my favorite.  More than any other remake, it improved, expanded, renewed, and made the original obsolete. It's also the best game in its series, the prototypical Resident Evil game, a crystalization of what is great.

For me, I would have to go with Donkey Kong '94 or Metroid: Zero Mission. Both vastly improved on the originals in creative ways, and both hold up so well today.

Last one that really made me perk up was the Goldeneye 007 remake on Wii. I got through the whole game and really enjoyed it. Improved controls made all the difference. I had some trouble with the orignal. Some of the tasks that used that weak analog stick on the N64 controller made me scream. Maybe it was because I had a slightly busted stick though. That could be, those things broke easily.

Pokemon Heartgold and Soulsilver are my favorites, well Soulsilver because that's the one I have. I like that one better than Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. I just love that it's so familiar for fans but with added new features to make it new and fresh for a newer generation. Was also cool that they added the story bits from Pokemon Crystal.

Zero Mission is one of my favorites too. It's short but an amazing remake. Kirby Superstar Ultra is really good too. Pretty much most of Nintendo's remakes are always on point.

Have you played the Half Life 2 remake, Black Mesa? I'd say it's one of the better remakes.
