Possible favorite games 1999

This is hard to choose just one.

Super Smash Bros.  Great at the time, but the series has improved SO MUCH since

Street Sk8er Still in contention. For me, it's as memorable as THPS and I prefer some aspects.

Beetle Adventure Racing (n\ot a joke, fun game) I considered this, but that's just being obscure more than actually listing my favorite; it still deserves love though

Pokémon Snap This is mainly in contention because of the Blockbuster photos at the time.

Driver In contention, because I played a lot of this on my older brother's PSX and thought it looked "cool" and "mature." My favorite parts of GTA are still the driving bits and I remember liking the (now outdated) cutscenes here.

Syphon Filter  My older brother played this a lot more than I did. Still, decent 3rd person shooter forgotten to time; kinda like Bruce Willis Armageddon.

Jet Moto 3 If there was an arcade port, I almost certainly played that more than the PSX version ... did I play the PSX version?

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater I already chose THPS 2 for 2000 and kinda regret not just saying Spider-Man on PSX. The only reason I didn't do that was because I mostly played that game on N64.

Sonic Adventure Played it on the neighbors' Dreamcast, but really dug what I played at that time. Moreso watched.

Jet Force Gemini Mostly played this at a different next door neighbors'. Moreso watched.

Pokémon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition I had Blue and rented this; wasn't actually as into Pokemon as everyone else. If Julian wants a good LOL this go-around, I was a Digimon fan. Then a Yu-Gi Oh fan. I like picking losers, what can I say?

Donkey Kong 64 I know this is crapped on by many people, but right now it's near the top for me. It was so huge for the time and there were different characters, weapon systems and the DK rap. I mean come on!

I'm aware of a lot of other games in 1999, like SF IIIrd Strike I really like, but these are all the games on Wikipedia's list I actually played in the year 1999.

I am also trying to find 3 cancelled games I ever gave a crap about.

That's the problem with these for me. Either it's hard for me to find one I care about (only reason THPS2 was my pick for 2000 ... and come to think of it I did play Spider-Man on PSX sometimes, so ... shit) or there's too much goodness to pick from (1999).

Pokemon Snap is an old favorite of mine. I still have the cart too.

Always wanted to try Beetle Adventure Racing. Next to crash racing, that's my favorite kind.

Beetle Adventure Racing was a lot more fun than you think.

It's always listed high in ratings. I was always curious about it for that reason. Also, adventure racing like in Diddy Kong Racing.

There were a lot of good games in 1999.  Out of the ones on your list, I'd have to say DK64 is the best.  It just hasn't aged as well as the Banjo games did.

Beetle Adventure Racing really is a good game.  I rented it once back then and was pleasantly surprised.  I didin't 'buy it because I was still a poor college student.

See, my neighbors had Banjo, but for some reason i never really okayed it. I just wasn't that interested in it when watching them.

I'm starting to lean toward at least mentioning Beetle Racing so they mention it in the podcast. I think you're right though, i definitely played DK64 the most on my list.

I thought 99 was a good year for gaming. I've played all but a couple of the games on your list

Super Smash: I was (still am) terrible at this game. My younger cousins I swear could be pros at this game. Still a lot of fun

Street Sk8ter: I thought it was ok, but I played it long after the hype the THPS games

Pokemon Snap: I watched my younger cousins play it and constantly questioned why this is a game.

Driver: I spent a lot of time playing Driver. It was a fun series.

Syphon Filter: I dug it. It was one of those "must have" Playstation games. I played through that Bruce Willis game.

Jet Moto 3: I don't think I played as much of it as I did the original.

THPS: I loved this game. My brother is a better player than I am. I did however love using all the cheats and getting crazy scores.

Sonic: That game got me dizzy

Jet Force: I found it at a thrift store and played a bit.

DK64:  I thought that game was fun. I didn't play much because I was a Playstation guy

I was good at melee with Roy. How people played with Ness effectively I have no clue.

Skating games I tended to like for soundtracks more than gameplay to be honest.

Uh ... Pokemon snap was a game because it was awesome and addicting. And Blockbuster booths.

Driver was definitely fun. I hated the "follow but don't be seen" missions though.

I didn't realize siphon filter was a must have. Thought it was more obscure. Guess not

See, I've never loved cheat codes in games. I airways want to play as intended. Cheat codes make me feel like a dog who caught the mail truck and has nowhere to go from there.

Adventure never made me dizzy, but I wonder what if there was a VR first person Sonic game.

DK64 was huge and gorgeous to me at the time. Guess that's why they included the expansion pack for free.

I honestly remember very little about JFG other than you were fighting Allen's i think?

I'd have to say my favorite 1999 game was Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete. Wanting it for five years (when the Sega CD version first appeared in ads in gaming magazines) and getting it fulfilled after all that time was memorable.

Other than that, it was Final Fantasy VIII, which I bought on September 9 instead of a Dreamcast. I will say that I liked the Dreamcast version of SoulCalibur though.

Of those, Soul Calibur would have been the only one I'd be interested in. I wish I had the love for JRPGs the rest of PIXLBIT has, but I just can't get into them.

I need to go look at the list myself but man, I played a crap ton of Jet Force Gemini and loved it.

I mostly watched my neighbors play it.
