March Happenings

It’s finally March! Well a week into March now (time is flying by so fast). I completely missed BaD (Again…) this year, it always slips my mind but I did go ahead and read a lot of the blogs you guys wrote! Maybe 2018 I’ll participate (marked it in the calendar!)

This year for me has gotten off to a semi-rocky start. Health wise I have not been great, nothing major to be concerned about, it’s mainly been constant sinus infections and this last week an ear infection. Hopefully last week is the last week of illness for me. With that being said I took the remainder of February off and past Friday and Saturday off from streaming to rest up. Thankfully Saturday I my ear started to feel better. I am planning to do a Dragon Quest Builder Stream this Friday – Sunday! Friday around 7pm – 11:30pm; Saturday around 8am – 1pm; Sunday around 9am – 2pm (daylight savings time will be a bummer this day). I fixed up my stream schedule a bit as well!

It's been awhile since I picked up Dragon Quest Builders! Lately (really only the past day) I have been playing Phoenix Wright: Spirit of Justice and Tokyo Mirage #FE. I really am enjoying them so far. I bought myself a SNES Breath of Fire 2 cartridge this past weekend, something about owning it physically is great vs digitally. I do plan to actually get the reto console versions of the series off the Wii U because once I get a capture card and a second PC monitor I would love to stream the Breath of Fire series; along with a lot of other games I own that can be bought digitally.

I recently bought myself a Vita as well since there’s a couple of games coming out that I would really like on the Vita – granted some of them are out on the PS4 as well but I have a weird quirk where I feel some games are better as a hand held than on the console. Plus, a lot of games currently out that I would really like to play.

Granted when I asked Best Buy in the off chance they maybe had a Vita the lady was very rude about it and was talking about how the Switch just came out…well duh I can see that but I don’t want to buy a switch right now because I always wait a year or the holiday season to get it for cheaper. I swear some sales people. And I told her I know it may be a long shot but…and she continued to tell me no one sells them anymore. Well yes, most places don’t but there’s some places that do so she annoyed me. Bad Customer service I tell you. I actually think the whole Best Buy was having a horrible Customer Service day except for the cashier she was the only person who didn’t sound rude or shove something at me to purchase and proceeded to keep being annoying about it after I said not interested.

I also purchased the Collector’s Edition Tales of Berseria as well (I cracked and couldn’t wait anymore). Thus ends the spoil Ashley purchases. I had gotten my bonus and allocated some of it to spoiling myself because it’s been awhile.
My next purchase for myself I am planning on getting a new Nintendo 3DS – I still have my Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time Collector’s Edition on (the original black colored on with gold triforce on it). Granted I love my current 3DS but I would really like the bigger screen experience with my 3DS games vs the smaller screen. By the holidays I should have a second monitor and a capture card. Maybe a switch if the deals for the monitor and capture card are good; otherwise I am planning that for my birthday.  By then there should be a nice array of games!

I have been in quite the reading mood though from being sick and just lazing around – I finished Volume one of Calendar Girl, and I have been reading a TON of Manga. Trying to clear out my bookmark list of all the manga I have to read online. I also have a new book series I am planning to read thanks to my boyfriend’s mom and sister; they are huge avid readers.
I have also been doing good on things for my goal in losing weight – I started Weight Watchers again because it worked for me last time. I also signed myself up for some recreation exercises classes that the town I live in is planning to have. Tuesdays is Zumba and Thursdays Pilates. They are only an hour long and right after work so it works out perfect; they also do not end too late either! I start tomorrow and I signed up for two sessions so it’ll run to May 23 as the last day for the classes. I figured I needed a better way to motivate myself to exercise and dropping cash down on classes is certainly one way to do so. I have never really been one for class settings because I am very self-conscious when it comes to exercise; I thought a change might be better than doing the norm since I have not been doing much myself at home. Also it would be nice to get out of the house after being cooped up so long from being sick.

The rest of the year seems to be pretty busy for me…I already have out to October pretty much planned out but making sure I get me time where I can. I am thinking of planning another event for my stream to raise some money for Extra Life 2017 – I was thinking of playing Borderlands with a group of friends in April but I am sort of waiting to see since events have been popping up unexpectedly for me this year as well that I am hesitant to make it a permanent date yet till closer to the end of March. I will keep you guys posted on that!

Till next my next blog!

I might get a vita and ps3 cause they're cheap and I'd have an immediately large library with free ps+ games.

I had a bad experience not buying a laptop at best buy once. She asked if we could try it to make sure it worked ( there was a sale but i needed credit and there was frustrating hulabaloo around that) and the cashier rudely said "uuuuhhh you can when you get home" in a sarcastic tone and right when he said that i put the laptop back. I'm not buying shit from some boy who talks to my mom like that.

I wish i were reading more. I got a book from the student center for $1 today and snee's book should be in my mail soon, plus i have the dc zero year omnibus i bought for $5 before Hastings went bankrupt.

I might buy a switch w my tax return, but the irs had to confirm my identity first. Uuuughhhh.

Ps plus games are a good majority of my library also haha.

I don't blame you for not buying the laptop at Best Buy, some people don't understand customer services especially when they deal with nice people.

The IRS issue does not sound fun, hopefully it gets resolved soon!

Those streaming times are great for me. I'll try and watch on my XBO this weekend.

Awesome! I am planning to not stream tonight only because I want to take care of some chores to avoid doing them over the weekend. But Saturday and Sunday I am planning to!

That's good, because I thought I had missed it tonight. I was so engrossed in Borderlands 2, I forgot to bring up Twitch.

I bought a Vita about 2 years ago.  Mostly, I just played Persona 4 Golden on it.  I played through it 4 times.  I have other games too, but I rarely play them.

I had to wait for my memory card to get in but I am excited to start playing the games I got!   Persona 4 is definitely on my list to get eventually as well.

What games do you want most on your Vita? I love mine, but I mostly use it to play Symphony of the Night and JRPGs. It's kind of my nostalgia machine atm, with only Tales of Hearts R and Trails in Cold Steel being the only new games i have, with the rest being Sly Cooper games and Final Fantasy VI-X.

Word of Caution though, Vita memory cards are really expensive. Like, 16gb of data cost me $32 and that was really hard to track down. I bought my Vita for $6 though (traded in a ton of old games) so I don't care too much, but others definitely will.

Tales of Berseria is so freaking good! I love the moral ambiguity of it, and just how dark it's willing to go while still somehow maintaining that Tales charm.

Mine is mainly going to be for JRPGS and Otome games or visual novels. Danganronpa v3 I preordered, I have root letter, tales of hearts r, code realize guardian of rebirth and then I have my pap games and danganronpa 1 and 2.

i got a 32gb memory card...and it was expensive but I think it'll be worth it for the long run.

I am really looking forward to Tales of Berseria!

Congrats on the Vita! They are a blast but finding games for them now is getting tough but at least there's Amazon. I hate that about stores with terrible customer service. If I ask about a product just check your inventory, don't give info about other products you're trying to push. Are you getting a 3DS XL too? I saw a couple of new versions and for some reason I like the Galaxy cover.

Speaking of the Switch, waiting a bit is always good because then you get more content in the library, you can see the good and bad from other's experiences, and the best part is they will be available and hopefully be on sale. The one thing I did do if I ever get a Switch is reserve my gamer name on their site. I saw an article that said I had to even though I already have a Nintendo account, so I went ahead and reserved my current Nintendo name just in case.

Amazon has been the main source of all the games and the ps store for Vita games. I do want a new 3DS XL I'm waiting a few months to get it though. I really like the Galaxy cover one or I want to get the Animal Crossing home decorator one.

I did on the update for the user name and I put mine in so that I had my name. Saw someone posted something on twitter about that.

I'm trying to lose weight. Got  an exercise bike for my birthday.  Use it a couple times a day if I can. Gotta lose weight, man.  Got to get healthy!

The thing about BaD - there's always next year!

They had a Switch to sell you?

Funny thing about that....they didn't have any and said I could go back Sunday for a morning event they have for the switch haha. So it was a weird moment between me and the floor person.

It's like the Monty Python cheese shop sketch were they don't have any cheese to sell. LOL. Or like my dad trying to buy a TV at BestBuy and the salesperson explains how great each model is and then when we say yes, he says sorry sold out. That really happened.
