Hey folks, I’ve got another batch of game reviews over at GamerDad.com that I’ve recently written. Please click on the links here and read as many as you can and maybe post a comment or two. I’d appreciate it, thanks!
But I know you guys don’t really want to read my reviews. You all know I got a Nintendo Switch, and you want to read what I think about it. So let’s get that out of the way first. Overall I like the system. I’m glad I got it early, and I’m really surprised on how versatile it is. Breath of the Wild is very addicting and not even an hour into owning a Switch, and I got a game to review for it (I am Setsuna). Really the only problems I have it are that you can’t charge it when it’s standing up on it’s own with the kickstand, because the charger plug goes on the bottom! I also have some issue with the Joycons. It’s not as easy as everyone makes it look to snap them into place. Although I’m really not very good with manual dexterity things like that, so that may be part of the problem. And I hate those little deals with the wrist strap that you have to connect to the Joycons when you want to play them separately. I can never get them in right. And I could see them getting lost really easily, too. But anyway, here is my Switch friend code if anyone is interested in adding me (yeah Nintendo is still using those).

G.P. the GamerPuppet Unboxes the Odin Sphere Leifthrasir Storybook Edition
How long has it been since I used my puppet character to unbox a game? Like, TWO YEARS?!? Well, I brought him back because for Christmas, I got the Odin Sphere Leif…left…oh why is that so hard to spell and pronounce…Leifthrasir Storybook Edition for PS4. I haven’t had a chance to play it yet as of this writing, but if you want to check out what’s inside this special edition game, click on the link!
Star Wars Pinball: Rogue One (PS4)
Zen Pinball’s newest is a pinball table based on the Star Wars spinoff movie Rogue One. They kept it simple with lots of scenes from the movie changing on the table, and great sound effects.
Yarn Poochy Amiibo
Yoshi’s Woolly World was a GREAT game, but I wasn’t thrilled about having to buy the game twice so I could get the Yarn Poochy amiibo figure with the 3DS version. Luckily, Nintendo sold it separate so I just got that one instead.
Link Twin (iPad)
This is a pretty fun little block pushing puzzle game where you control twins in tandem as you try to get them to stand on certain targets at the same time without falling off the edge. It held my interest longer than most of these kinds of games do, so it must be pretty decent.
Shift DX (3DS)
And here’s another puzzle game, this time on the 3DS. It’s a 2-D single screen platform jumping challenge, but you can flip the world upside down so the ceiling is the floor and vice versa. It’s also pretty good for what it is.
Akihabara: Feel the Rhythm (iPad)
Finally in the last of this trio of puzzlers is this falling shape match challenge. It has elements of music puzzlers like Lumines. But the game is really hard and didn’t hold my interest as much.
Hunter’s Legacy (PS4)
In this downloadable PS4 game, you play as a cat person huntress as you try and save the world. It’s a 2-D platformer with Metroid elements. But it’s kind of hard, the controls aren’t to my liking, and the whole thing has an amateurish feel to it. So it didn’t grab me like most of these kinds of games do.
Toby: The Secret Mine (Wii U)
And last is this Limbo clone. So many of these types of games out now. Wasn’t really a big fan of Limbo anyway. The sad thing is that, aside from some of the LEGO Dimensions expansion packs, this may be the last Wii U game I review.
And that’s all for now! Thanks for reading and commenting on my reviews. Later! --Cary
