There were definitely frustrating parts in TLG, but i think Trico was more responsive for me than he was for many others. I definitely know what you mean 5though. It's a flawed game, but still great.

Halo Wars: Definitive Edition
I whipped through this replay in about two days. I actually enjoyed it a lot more than I remember enjoying Halo Wars. The campaign is still a little iffy but Skirmish mode is a ton of fun. Even just against AI opponents. An excellent prelude to playing...
Halo Wars 2
The campaign is much better this time around. Much more fun and less cheap (thanks to a new save system). Skirmish is almost as great as before, I just think there are likely a few balance issues that need to be ironed out. Blitz mode only gave me a few extra hours of fun, but regardless, I'm looking forward to the DLC (the season pass came with the Ultimate Edition that I ordered).
A King's Tale: Final Fantasy XV
This game kind of sucks. Even as a freebie or pre-order bonus, I was surprised Square Enix released something like this with the Final Fantasy name on it. Then I remembered vanilla FFXIV and wondered no longer. Anyway, this is just a trashy beat-em-up. Good only for easy achievements/trophies and that's about it.
The Last Guardian
Man, I loved this game when I finished it. Key words: "when I finished it." The act of actually playing through this game is frustrating as hell. Whether it's trying to figure out an obtuse way of progressing forward or getting your companion Trico to move to where you want to, playing this game was not what I call fun. It does get to some epic heights that I've never seen before and the overall experience is still a very memorable one though.
It's not quite as amazing as Ico or Shadow of the Colossus because of the aforementioned frustration. For that reason, I would recommend anyone curious to check out those two before playing The Last Guardian (though those two are not without their own frustration as well). And if you already have, dive head first into this game and don't look back until you finish it.
Finally, I got Final Fantasy XIV (with the Heavensward expansion) for PS4. So that's likely all I'll be playing for a while.
