Chris Springs Forward And Plays Games

I don't think my body cares about the fall backwards, spring forwards time change anymore. I woke up at the same time I normally do: 30 minutes before my alarm. During this time I question why I wake up that early, read Twitter while listening to the local news, and maybe a quick scan through Reddit. That is how I welcomed in spring forward. Good morning Pixlpeeps! Since I got that out of the way, how are you good people? I got some gaming in this past weekend while debating on playing something new on the iPhone/iPad. Let's check out what I played this past week

NCAA Football 14 – PS3

I think I am in year 6 or 7 of my Dynasty run with Eastern Michigan, and at the halfway point I am undefeated and I have the Eagles at 3 in the Top 25. I'm starting to toy with the idea of moving the Eagles to Independent instead of being part of MACtion, if I keep the team in the MAC I only have to worry about scheduling three games instead of the full 12. Maybe I'll try it for a year.

NBA 2K16 – Steam

Still playing with my created team The San Diego Gulls (I'll post pictures next week). I borrowed the local minor league Hockey team name, and colors for my basketball squad that used to be named the Clippers. I traded away the big names on the squad except for Deandre Jordan and I have a younger faster squad that like to run in transistion.

Steep – Origin

Last weekend was a free weekend trial of Steep. I didn't know much about the game except for that it was a Winter X-Games like game where you can try I believe four disciplines. Control wise its more similar to Skate than say a Tony Hawk game, but I found the terrain and gamestyle to be forgiving if/when you crash.

I ran everything at High/Ultra and it would dip slightly under 30fps, but I stuck with high it was consistently above 30. Not bad for a laptop. My favorite was the wing suit because you can fly down a mountain and try crazy stunts. I flew through a hole in a mountain on my first shot. After that I got cocky and flew into a ski lift pole. I didn't play much of the game but I did enjoy it, but I didn't enjoy it enough to spend $30. Now if Origin would put it on sale...

Lego Worlds – Steam

This was one of the first games I wanted when I started getting into PC gaming again but waited until a sale to pick it up. After that I didn't touch it, until I saw the game at Walmart for the PS4 and then I wanted to play it (weird huh?)

It's billed as Minecraft for Lego. I really haven't played Minecraft so I couldn't agree/disagree with this statement but the game does feel like every other Lego Franchise game except you have an assortment of guns that can change the terrain, copy items, and build structures. I think the first couple of worlds you visit are tutorials because each place has a new tool. Anyways I like it, the game looks really good with the graphics kicked up to its highest setting, and the detail is incredible. While building a wall, the brick can be raised in increments of one Lego plate (three stacked plates is the same height as a Lego brick), that along with the surface design of the slope pieces are the same as the toy. I dig this game in small bursts.

Tomb Raider Prophecy – GBA

I am a couple of levels further into the game that I was last week, but it wasn't a lot of gameplay. I finally figured out how to get Lara's weapons out so I've been taking out the wolves that chased me. Heck now I'm looking for them. Anyways I found an old Game FAQs or something similar that has all the code words for all 40 something levels. I'm still taking pictures of the quit/save screen so I don't have to remember the code itself, but its good to have that additional resource.

The Simpsons Tapped Out – iOS

I bought the Simpsons version of Stephen A Smith. I still haven't finished fixing my town, and I'm back to checking my Springfield once a week. I missed a lot of cool buildings during the travel community game but I wasn't interested in putting in the time.

Disney Emoji Blitz – iOS

This week there is a game to unlock Captain Hook and well

Casually playing the game with a Peter Pan character (either Pan or Tinkerbell) gives you 2x the damage. The other two purple boxes are just boosts making Captain Hook more powerful. I'm still rolling with Ursula because I almost have her level at 1000.

I spent most of Sunday charging and updating my Android tablet so I could play some MKX, and Injustice to get ready for the newest Injustice game that is coming out soon.

Alright Pixlpeeps, I am off. Have a good week!

That's all for now, more later!

-Chris

Nope. As an extra shot in the ass, it finished downloading shortly after midnight on Monday. Lol

aw look how cute Captain Hook looks! :)

Man after all this time I still haven't played Tapped Out.  What is wrong with me?

Sounds like that ski lift pole was out to get ya!

I really dig the art style of Disney Emoji Blitz. Everyone has a round face, and the non character emoji's are nice as well.

Tapped Out is fun and there are a lot of random Simpsons characters you can unlock.

That ski pole wanted to humble me.

I tried the Steep Beta but it didn't hook me, which is a shame since I love extreme sports games.

I still haven't played any of the lego games, might need to get around to that.

Steep had its moments and I knew if I progressed into the harder stuff it would have been a pain.

Lego games are fun, but don't expect too much challenge. Its usually just roam around, break stuff, and collect everything.

Lego Worlds is on my rental list. I'd like to check it out.

From what I've seen so far its a lot of exploring, and earning gold bricks to unlock new places. Hopefully you get as much enjoyment from it as you did from Minecraft.

I played a bit of NBA 2K16 when it was on a free weekend, it didn't grab my attention but sports games rarely do.

Speaking of which, I didn't try Steep on its free weekend. I was thinking about it but figured it would take forever to download (which seems to be the problem Super Step is having).

That's understandable. I like the ability to create your own team with logos, uniforms, and of course trading everyone to create a team you like.

Man console downloads always do that. It's a shame.
