Bravely Second and PSN movie streaming stupidity

I'm into chapter 3 in Bravely Second right now and basically I'm playing through it just to see the story.

I don't really need to put much thought into boss battles due to the "Summon Friend" capability.

Every day the game allows you to net-invite 5 players over the internet and during battle you can summon them to attack instead of you. You can only do it once for each of the Friends unless they update their data.

Given the age of the game there are tons of powerful friends to invite but unless they are playing and updating the character they send out it's just a one shot deal.

It's hilarious to use though because I'm well into the game and no boss has even got in an attack. They are usually beaten in the first round.

I'm sort of enjoying the game though. The regular enemies can be way more challenging because I never use that feature on them.

The other useful feature if you just want to clear out all the loot in a dungeon is the ability to turn encounters off completely so that you only face bosses.

My strategy has been to turn the encounters off, clean out the dungeon then turn encounters back on to +100% by the save point and do all my levelling there. If you vanquish the enemy in one turn you can choose to fight another battle right away and it multiplies experience, job points and money by 1.5, 1.8, 2.0, 2.2 and so on if you keep winning in one turn.

Definitely something different.

and now the PSN movie rant. During a drunken session the the PSN store I decided to buy the 3 Matrix movies plus the Animatrix for $16.99. Don't ask me why. It said that I could watch them on PS3, PS4, Vita or in a browser.

This is a mistake I will not make again. Through a browser or on PS4 the movies are streaming only. Ok I thought I stream on Netflix all the time, maybe this won't be too bad. Wrong and getting wronger all the time. Streaming from PSN is abyssmal! The movie stutters and freezes constantly. It is unwatchable and I have a 100 mbps download speed.

Apparently I am able to download them on PS3 so I will try that.

Of course I could have saved myself the money and watched the second two on Netflix but I didn't.

More fool me.

ug I know we get digital games but digital movies doesn't sit with me. Case in point, Rogue One is now available for download on Amazon, but I'm like: "I want bluray, wah!"  But I wan to watch Rogue One. Goddammit!

Yeah i only rent digital. Digital games I'm more ok with than movies for some reason.

Netflix has been the only movie streaming service that actually seems worth a damn. Most of the rest seem really poor quality unless you live next door to one of the servers. Thanks for the heads up though, I won't be getting any movies on ps4.

It gets worse. I checked out my PS3 and if there was an option to download the movies it is gone now. They seem to stream ok with a wired connection on both PS3 and PS4 but don't tell me I've bought something and then tell me my only option is streaming.

I love all those features in Bravely Second. I'm only playing the demo but I saw the other day that I got a street pass friend. I can't wait to use it in a battle.

Oh geeze, that Genesis song. Brings me right back to high school 1985. Yea, the song is from '73 but that's when I was deep into Genesis stuff.

Yea, I was a real Genesis-head as a teenager. Selling England was definitely one of my favs too. I could go on and on about it.

OH and I just came to a boss in Bravely Second that is a royal pain in the ass. I won't spoil it for you if you are going to play the full game but you'll know when you get there.

Wow that is terrible. You would think Sony would have figured this out, but then again they're the company that had their store offline for a couple of months. Sorry you went through this but on the positive at least you saved folks here some of the headaches of running into the same problem if we bought flicks from PSN.

As I just said in my reply to Blake, the internet lied to me about being able to download to PS3. So streaming is your only option if you "buy" a movie on PSN.
