you know, I don't watch baseball, don't follow it, kinda hate it.... but I like baseball videogames! I used to play Mario baseball and the old MLB with my friend a couple years ago and I really got into both. I think baseball is more interesting if you're actually involved.

Today is release day for MLB 17 The Show. I'm still on the fence if I should buy the game or just continue playing MLB 16. Last year I pre-ordered the game, and by pre-order I mean I walked into a Target bought one of those $1 cards that gets me the game and a $5 gift card to use on another trip. If you purchase your game at the Electronics section, you can use the gift card on something else like a $20 PSN card at the front of the store. Anyways I didn't play much of last year's game, only getting video game Chris to put up monster numbers in the minors just to be brought up by a struggling Mets squad that wasn't winning after the All Star Break. Anyways I never finished the game and maybe this might be the first year I play the game for more than two seasons.
While roaming around Walmart yesterday looking through their clearance PC games I spot this in the Nintendo game cabinet
First time seeing them in the wild. There is no appeal to buying one. I don't like the games that are released, and I'm still content with my 3DS XL. Congrats to the folks who saw these and are buying them to play and not to resell.
What Chris Is Playing...
NBA 2K16 – Steam
Still running through my season with the Gulls. Last night the Gulls held LeBron James to 7 points and they easily blew out the Cavs by 20. Turned off the TV and saw that the Spurs in real life did the same to the Cavs.
Mortal Kombat XL – Steam
Nothing fancy I just played through one tower with zero continues (woot!) and then I started the story mode. I played the story mode before so I know what to expect and I'm not in a hurry to play through it.
Borderlands – Steam
I made the game interesting by using a cheat where you can boost all the stats. Yeah I went back to video game steroids but like I said last week I wasn't having any fun with the game. Now the game is fun and I am roaming through the game checking off missions and taking down the bad guy.
Lego Worlds – Steam
I'm on a planet where its supposed to be like a bayou island planet. Most of the stuff is underwater so I'm using the landscape gun and just borrowing down and to my surprise I found three treasure chests. These chests have special things and the ones I found had a trident, bazooka, and plans for a set. I also found an ogre that proceeded to kick my butt. Currently my character is somewhere underground and I need to make a hole so I can get out and find more gold bricks.
Mortal Kombat X – Android
Last weekend was Double XP Weekend and I used this to move up two levels by playing more of the story levels (I finished it originally I think on iOS) and I finished the tournament for Quan Chi
If I really tried I could finish the story mode in one sitting but that's a lot of time to devote to this game when I could just play the full on game.
I thought this was a cool shot of the what happens before the Fatality sign pops up.
Super Mario Run – iOS
I jumped back into this game to see what was happening. There are some new characters that I unlocked and I am close to unlocking the big birthday cake to place in my little kingdom. Also right before the update I ran into this beauty
I went from this page, to the app screen where instead of the button saying UPDATE it read OPEN, and back to that screen within the app. It's a vicious cycle. Game works and when I get a minute I play through the Rally section on the Bowser floating ship levels (my favorites)
The final game I started playing is a new one I spotted in the Google Play Store
Baseball Star – Android
If you ever played Little League World Series on the PS3, or any Hot Shots sports game, this has similar character designs where the characters have big round heads.
The game itself is a regular baseball game but there are some interesting upgrades like the other team a couple of players were using a guitar, or trophy as a bat.
Controls are simple: the left circle controls the pitch placement, the button on top changes the pitch type, the right circle button throws the pitch. For batting its the same, left for bunt, right for swing. The problem that I found was that I was swinging too early. Instead of focusing on the entire screen, I started to just look at the strike zone.
On the default settings the game goes until the 3rd inning. I don't know if there is extra innings because I've usually won both my games by scoring in the third inning. After the game you are awarded a character that you can combine with other characters to create a stronger character. I don't know if this works because I haven't tried any of that, I just wanted a quick baseball fix without charging my Vita.
Overall the game is fine. There are commercials, and little ads that pop up but nothing too annoying. I do wish I was able to just buy the game outright and not have to see the ads. Anyways the app is free, and you don't need an internet connection to play.
Alright Pixlpeeps I am off. Have a good week!
That's all for now, more later!
