Mega Man Legacy Collection

At first, I was ready to snap this freshly bought disc in frustration, then I realized this game had save states and, halleluiah, I ended up loving every second I played of it. I actually ended up beating all the Mega Man games on the disc thanks to save states. I wonder how any human could actually beat these games back in the day (well, except for MM3, that one's kind of easy in comparison. I actually beat that one on the Anniversary Collection on PS2).

The Challenge mode is a ton of fun too. I somehow managed to beat 37 of the 50+ challenges. Lots of frustration was had, but I kept coming back to the game, no matter how much I would say "this is the last challenge." And did I mention I love Mega Man's music? Overall, this is the best game I've played so far this year, and I can't wait for my next retro-fix when the developers release Disney's Afternoon Collection in April.

Final Fantasy XV: Episode Gladiolus

I was finished with this one in a matter of hours, though the challenge was satisfying everything else about this "expansion" was pretty disappointing. I never liked the linear parts of FFXV very much, and this was linear as hell. I hope future expansions of FFXV add more to the open-world which is by far the star of the game.

Final Fantasy XIV

After going back to this after more than two years away, I can safely say I still love this game. I got a 14-day free trail for transferring from PS3 to PS4. I'm a level 55 Dragoon and probably close to halfway done the Heavensward expansion. I loved the story at the end of the final Realm Reborn patch, titled "Before the Fall." It was surprising how much it drew me in, especially considering I skipped a lot of the dialogue beforehand. I'm having a blast playing Trials and beating Primals over and over. I'm just about to purchase another month subscription where I will hopefully be caught up to the end of Heavensward patches by the end.

I keep getting close to buying that Mega Man Collection before walking away. Having save states is a huge plus for me, because even today I'd still have problems playing through those games.

Yeah, I would have bought the game sooner had I known there were save states. I can't really imagine anyone finding these games easy. There are some checkpoints that I can imagine would frustrate even the most hardcore MM players.

I'll likely get into the woods in lieu of mega man collection, but it does look good. I am continually baffled by how easy MM3 is for you. I find MM2 the easiest by far.

Granted, the only reason I beat MM3 was I think because it let you start with 9 lives in the Anniversary Collection. I never would have beaten Wily's Castle without it. I don't know which MM I find the hardest. Just based on bosses, I'd probably have to go with MM5.

Really tempted to pick up the Mega Man Legacy Collection. I also tried to add The Disney Afternoon Collection to my rental list, but it wasn't available on Gamefly. Is it download only?

Yeah, Disney's Afternoon Collection might be digital only. That's the only pre-order up on Amazon. That would explain why it's only $20.

Darn. Maybe when I get back to work, I'll spring for it.
