So Stardew Valley was a game I had as like my 5th option because the other titles I wanted were low availability (Persona, Andromeda, Nier ... Yooka Laylee was in there too, releases tomorrow though) and that's the one that shipped today. Uuuuuggghh. Well, I guess I'll see how addictive it really is. I know people love this shit, it's just disappointing to me personally that I JUST realized I could rent Uncharted 4 and my dead last option in my Q is the one I have coming.

Anyway, the Flash trailer for Injustice 2 released today

Looks like the game will feature MK X graphics while keeping a lot of the mechanics of Injustice, which is like the perfect combination of those two games. I'm excited.

Then of course, there's Tekken 7:

which somehow completely slipped under my radar until now, but hot damn I love that there's a 3D fighter coming, given how many 2D ones I have on my PS4 (Arc Systems stuff like Guilty Gear Xrd and Chrono Phantasma Extend along with Injustice, MKX, and I want to say there's another one I own).

I love fighting games, but I just hate that because I usually uy them used, the lobbies are empty and when they're full, even the beginner ones have people who know the game way too well already. It sucks, cause having a virtual arcade was one of the biggest things I was looking forward to about my first ever online-gaming console. But actual arcades feature human beings with human-level abilities. Not 14-year-old Korean children who basically turn every fight into an unfair boss battle.

I should probably get ready for my stand up comedy open mic tonight, but that's not until 8 p.m. and let's be honest, I'll end up getting just buzzed enough to wing this shit anyway.

How are y'all? Y'all'd've been as excited as I was for virtual arcades before learning everyone you fight is a damn Korean god?

i had an idea the other day of you combining stand up comedy with gaming.. like doing a podcast or a youtube thing that's like gaming standup. Hey, just an idea i had for u when my mind was wandering sometime!

I've fought some Korean gods. THat's why I don't play fighting games anymore.  :)

I sometimes get the urge to start a Let's Play channel, but when I'm by myself I just don't naturally want to talk; and I hate channels like PewDiePie where it's just banshee screaming every few minutes/seconds (I think he's calmed down since I saw his stuff, but it still doesn't appeal to me) so idk.

I mean, I'm probably being a little racist, but every time I look at the leaderboards for really any genre there's like 30 South Koreans at the top with scores that tell me they probably know how to cheat the game's code or something.

To take race/geography out of it, I'll just say I don't like how no one online plays like an actual human being you'd meet at a typical arcade (even the ones who have a line formed to fight them are at least beatable in reality land).

don't those games these days have matchmaking, where u fight people with your level of wins or something?

That's what I'm saying though. It's like the beginners with one win are somehow berzerkers anyway.

My friend Mark used to put just one title at a time on his Gamefly queue. He always got it. I can't help putting a whole months worth on there. I don't really mind which one comes first.

I should just keep only one.

I kind of hate the super experts in fighting game lobbies, but I really pissed people off in MKX with my Kitana. She is my main in every Mortal Kombat game. In MKX, I actually managed to clear out an entire room by playing cheap and dirty with Kitana (a lot of spamming midair fans like a machine gun, things like that.) People were bitching about it, but I was rather enjoying myself. :)

I'll probably pick Tekken 7 as my go to fighter this year, but I really wish Sega would make Virtua Fighter 6. That's a long shot, but then again, Sega's been pretty damn good over the past year and showing encouraging signs of listening to fans (keep in mind they also own Atlus and the Persona franchise).

I did more or less the same thing in a real arcade with yoshimitsu as a kid. I guess an online lobby just isn't the same. You don't get to have another kid walk up to you and accuse you of cheating cause you're just pressing buttons randomly (accurate, but i still don't consider what i did cheating; the game let me). So I've been the super expert/alleged cheater myself. Using a character with a suicidal move. Yeah, f* that kid. That wasn't cheating.

I ... Never liked virtua fighter. My neighbor gave me a copy of i think iv on ps2 because he got bored of it. Just gave it away for free. Then i played it and ... Got bored of it. I can't remember why it just wasn't my thing. Iirc the combat moved a bit slower and as someone whose favorite fighters are Arc Systems titles, i think you can see where my problem was.

I typically only like fighting games that have a offline story campaign. I dont play online, Im not good at all for that. Im complete garbage so unless they have the single player thats the only way Ill play them.

Stardew Valley is quite good. I freaking love it, I have been taking a break since SOS Trio of Towns released in Feb for the 3DS. One of my relatives is gonna give me there copy of Uncharted 4. They got it around Christmas with the PS4 bundle and there not much into it. Im pretty excited, Ive played and beaten the 3 previous titles. Not to mention Chloe is getting her Standalone adventure in Aug and Ill for sure be playing it.

That's one thing about Uncharted 4: I still want to play my copy of the trilogy remaster first.

Like I said, I'll see if Stardew Valley suits me.

I agree. I like story modes in fighters. I really like when I can have a different story with each character, as it adds to replayability.

You can play against me in a fighting game and you definitely won't lose.

That's actually part of the problem still. Sometimes i have no challenge from visiting friends and have to hold way back to let them compete.

I miss having a middle ground.

All Injustice has to do at this point is offer some sort of Lego minifigure as a pre-order bonus and I'm in. I don't play much online because it seems like everyone is a pro gamer. At least with shooters I somewhat have a chance and I'm usually not last in the rankings which always feels good.
