Good morning Pixlpeeps! It is Friday and I have to admit I haven't been around much this week and that is because I have family from Hawaii visiting so the week has been spent hanging with them, playing some games, playing with Lego, and visiting the neighborhood pool. We would have used the neighborhood clubhouse but they are still in remodel phase for another week or so (hopefully, I miss the treadmill). Because of this I haven't read any blogs and commented on them. Since the Coachella kids are invading for week 1 I will probably not venture outside much if at all so I have that time to catch up. Anyways let's get started with another Quick Hits.

Chris Watches...

Billions – Showtime

I've always thought of this show as good vs evil, yet the lines have been blurred a bit with each side swapping positions throughout the season. With Axe's outburst at the end of last week's episode, things start to clear up and for me its no longer the good vs evil, but rather two people in the gray in between area. Of all the things Chuck fought for, it is amazing how low he will go to achieve something especially with him trying to be all “high and mighty” over Axe. The focus of the show switched for me when Chuck, being the guy who wanted to carve his own way hid behind daddy's money and threw out some snide remark about Axe at the club. I'm finally seeing what bothers Chuck about Axe; its not that Axe is dirty when it comes to making money, its the fact that he is a blue collar kid who made something of himself without having a silver spoon. During all this time he forged a relationship with his wife Wendy who was also there for the rise of Axe. I'm assuming Wendy also came from a similar background as Axe. Axe maybe new money, but he earned every single dime. Chuck realizes everything he has accomplished is because of his father. He also punished Connerly because he's basically Axe, a poor kid who made it. Chuck is the rich kid who thinks because he comes from money he is better.

This show now is old money versus new money. How one guy who doesn't play by the rules of his company or among the rich is going to take on the old money of the state of New York.

The Secret Life Of Pets – Redbox

My uncle and one of my cousins made a RedBox/In-N-Out run (one of many In-N-Out runs) for movie night and this is one of the flicks (the cousins are 11 and 8 so kid friendly stuff). I remember this film being shown on the red eye back from Honolulu and I caught bits of it when I wasn't sleeping or watching whatever I downloaded on my iPad. The movie is cute and I enjoyed it. Of course it annoyed my younger cousin when I kept saying “Dog Woody” or “Dog Buzz” because there are a lot of similarities to Toy Story. A. LOT.

Rogue One – Redbox

The younger cousin got back at me when we watched this film and kept saying “they're all gonna die” when I told him I haven't seen the movie. I didn't tell him is that I saw this in theaters and I kinda knew that going into the movie because none of them (or their characters) show up or are even mentioned in Episode IV. Is this really a spoiler at this point? Anyways apologies to you folks who haven't seen it and just had it spoiled.

First Class Flights – YouTube

My new thing now is watching videos of different first class flights around the world. Etihad Airlines and Emerates is freaking amazing. Emerates has a drive up private gate, private relaxation rooms that have a full bathroom, chef, butler, and access to a cigar room and spa. Then of course you are driven to the gate where another butler walks you to your pod. You also get to shower. Freaking.Awesome. Etihad is somewhat similar except their bathroom isn't as nice. One of the pods has a separate room with a bed. A FREAKING BED. It's nuts. Delta, and British Airways aren't as nice, but they are probably cheaper.

Star Wars Celebration – YouTube

I watched this yesterday and earlier this morning, and they released the new trailer for the next Star Wars flick that's coming out this Christmas, which means I will check it out before new year.

Chris Listens To...

I took a break this week from listening to my 50 songs a day because the family is here. I'll need to catch up ASAP. Because I listened to a bunch last month I am only behind I think two days which isn't bad.

Coach Fisher Retires

Thank You to the greatest head coach in SDSU History. He took a dead program and made it a nationally ranked team, two sweet sixteen banners, a couple of NIT Final Fours, a ton of MWC Championships, and was National Coach of the Year. Also the culture changed on campus, and now the mens and womens programs have a new practice facility, sell outs for games, and one of the top student sections in the country. When he came to the Mesa he told us “We're gonna win” and he didn't lie. Thank you Coach Fisher for building one hell of a program, and filling it with a ton of quality people on and off the court.

The aftermath of a 5 year old

On one of the pool days another uncle came to visit and brought my youngest cousin a little five year old to spend time with his cousins. Since I had my Lego Dimensions stuff out he also decided to play with them

He took the vehicles off the bases and took a bunch of stuff apart. Thank goodness he didn't venture into the hallway where the Star Wars Rebels Ship, Ghost lives because he would have cried until I let him play with that...like he did the last time he visited. Speaking of Lego, my younger cousin also has a copy of Lego Dimensions so he wanted some of my extras and I gave them up. Instead of searching for parts for the vehicles I just gave him the stuff I already built and I will build the sets I gave away later on

This might be the plan for today, along with rebuilding what my hurricane little cousin did to the other sets. The oldest cousin I gave him I think 8 PS4 games I no longer play. He can save some cash on new stuff and I don't have old games sitting around so win win. I'm not attached to PS4 games as I am to Playstation, PS2, and to a lesser degree PS3. Maybe I'm moving on from wanting to have a huge game library, maybe I have other priorities, but collecting games just isn't my thing anymore.

Pickups

Nothing too fancy this week

From Steam

Never played the game but it was a buck and there seemed to be a lot of comments on Reddit about it.

My cousin picked this up for me

I could never seem to find Kiss Batman in the blind bags so this will have to do. Also I really should start playing my Lego Batman Movie game.

Alright Pixlpeeps I am off. I need to get some breakfast before younger cousins wake up and we start playing some random games. Have a good weekend.

That's all for now, more later!

-Chris

Instead of a song for this week I want to share the Carrie Fisher Tribute that was played yesterday at the opening panel of the Star Wars Celebration. Princess Leia is my favorite princess, ever. Have a good weekend!

apparently Endless SPace 2, which is in Early Access, is a really stunning, forward thinking 4X space game. I haven't played it, but once it's out of early access I'll probably buy it.

That's a lot of legos.

Oh nice, the gameplay looked interesting. Unfortunately I haven't started it yet, but I will just as soon as I either go 100% on Lego City or stop playing because of burnout.

I think Rogue One was intended to introduce new fans to retro Star Wars, like Force Awakens did as well as fill in a story gap for older fans as well. I wouldn't be surprised if people went in not knowing it was a death mission like inglorious basterds. Actually, I was surprised they blew up the last planet with the citadel. That was a surprise for me.

Yeah it was to bring in casual fans, and give the old fans some new content. It was interesting to see the Death Star's beginnings.

I was in Gamestop the other day and saw a K-2SO mug for sale. I thought about it too late, but I wanted to be drinking it when I met Alan Tudyk at Comic Con the other weekend. That would've been neat.

That would have been a cool item to get autographed.
