So there still isnt much to go on for the game however IGN uploaded a video that announced a date had been set to release some updates about the game however there is a delicate situation with in Square Enix, well that just sounds all dandy and positive, doesnt it? I swear they need to either release the details and keep us kind of updated on the game more or cancel the motherfucker because at this point Im getting a lil burnt out with this lets hide shit and be secretive crap. I still wanna see the game released of course I just dont get why this is taking forever just to hear something about the game. Im already waiting on a damn release date, give me something to tide me over till that point in time!
It would be interesting to know why FF 13 versus has been such a difficult project for S/E. Then again it's probably as simple as them assigning big teams to other games.
I mean c'mon, FF 13 gets 3 games in a whole damn trilogy yet Versus is still incomplete? Messed up priorities!
It truely is, I really think Versus would be a great game and im quite looking forward to it even though I didnt like FF13 itself. I wasnt a fan of the combat system nor a lightening fan. I however heard they took a different approach to Versus's combat system.
Ugh. Just let it die. No one has even played this thing at an event yet. I also don't see the reason for having the FF name on this. It looks like it should stand as a new IP to me.
Plus, I'm not looking forward to another 60 hours of Nomura character designs.
I jsut want it to actually do something, I will accept a cancellation on it if it was to happen Im jsut ready for it to make a damn move.
It'll be released whenever Final Fantasy XX comes out and XIII is long forgotten.

That sure was an informative trailer lol. WTF is this game anyway? Looks like a beat em up. I feel like Square Enix has lost touch with what made Final Fantasy so great in the first place. 13 was ok. 13-2 pissed me off so much, and I really don't have any interest in the third one. Hopefully this will be good.
The storyline so far is "The story focuses on Noctis Lucis Caelum, the prince of a dynasty which rules a city state that has the last remaining crystal in the world. After this crystal is stolen by an invading nation, a global conflict ensues with all other nations wishing to gain it for themselves. Against this backdrop of a world at war, Noctis and his closest friends embark on an epic journey to try and get the crystal back"
I think the game personally would have some pontential but it only will if they decide to actually do something! Instead there taking all the time in the world on it. I played FF13 once, never touched it again.

Well it might jsut be dead but im holding a lil bit of hope for Versus. it might not be excatly the FF we love but maybe good enough to be close.

or just scrap the ff and the versus, and release kingdom hearts 3.
Yes they could but knowing square they would jsut find another project they need to work on as to hold off Kingdom Hearts 3. While I do know it will get its chance I think it will be a PS4 release. Were so close already to the PS4 being here so I dont see it going on the PS3 unless they do both the systems for it.
Final Fantasy to me seems like they have lost there identity, there storys start off promising and then go awry and sneenlantern is right they need to go back to what we all loved about FF and quit trying to be this giant graphics whore monster that Square seems to want.as far as the video is concerned I wouldnt hold my breath, this still may never see the light of day. I would rather have a full on FF and if graphics have to suffer to make it an awesome game which we know they can do then so be it.
I dont think graphics wpould have to suffer. I think they need to go back and look at the characters and the stories in previous games and see where they went wrong. However for me, the only bad FF game Ive exerianced is FF13.That game just was horrendous in my opinion. I do agree though that the series has gone down since FF9 but FF10 and FF12 werent horriable to me.
At this point, it would have to have a bigger impact than FFVII to justify the wait. I think that's the real issue--even if it does eventually get released, can it really live up to 7+ years of hype?
I really dont know but FF12 was in development for 5 years and the finish product wasnt bad on that game. I know some people didnt like it but I personally loved the story and characters. The combat system was also to my liking. If they do release it, it doesnt have to be perfect, all im hopeing for is good characters and a good story.
I'm talking more in terms of recouping on their investment. If the game turns out to be nothing special, all the pent up hype will only be good for the first week or two of sales. It's going to have to be a blockbuster with real legs on the sales charts, or else it'll end up being a giant money pit--one that SE can't afford right now.
Thats true, it could sink them and I think that might be what the delicate situation is. I however have hope for this game, I dont know why but I damn well do. I guess once they release the details we will know where its going to go.
