Making Our House a Home

So Bilby and I recently moved back to Armidale and got our own place! Well, our own place with two roommates, but hey, babysteps. It ends up costing us $120 a week in rent which is pretty awesome, since it's pretty close to town. The only thing is we live on a fucking steep hill that is murdering me on my daily walk. But hey, I should hopefully get in shape a lot quicker this way.

Anyway, onto the photos!

This is my living room. We've pimped it out with geek shit, so it's feeling a bit more homely. We're fortunate in that both our roommates are also collossal geeks so they don't mind this stuff.

We got these two sweet posters for $15 at our local music store. We're planning on getting more when we get cash. Next to the superman pic, I'm going to get a batman poster as well. I'm thinking of maybe making that a more vintage DC wall, with some campier posters lining that wall.

We got that Aesop Rock poster with the special edition of "The Impossible Kid" album, which is all kinds of awesome. The other two smaller posters are from a book we got called shitty horrorscopes, which mostly feels like something out of Welcome to Nightvale and is great.

From the left we have an awesome Breath of the Wild statue that I bought today for $90. We have a lifesized Cubone plush that is absolutely amazing. We also have the Dark Souls II statue that came with the collectors edition of the game. Next to that are two Bloodborne themed Sackboy keyrings I got with my copy of Bloodborne. There's also some pokemon stuff and one of my Warhammer 40k figures that I painted.

 Below are some closeups:

Next, we have our books, which are 98% fantasy at the moment. We lost a lot of our books in a house fire or just didn't bring them with us yet:

 We maybe like Fantasy.

We also went to a rotary book sale and got this beauty.

I don't know what the fuck it is, but I knew I had to have it right the fuck now. Plus it was like barely a dollar.

 We also got this:

We already have this goddamn book, but we couldn't pass up that cover. Is that Melisandre and Robb Stark? Or is that Renly? Or shit, even Stennis? I guess I'll never know. It's gloriously cheesy though and I love it.

Next we have the shrine of Plush.

I think Bilby maybe likes Pokemon:

They are sacrificing Hellboy to their god in the hopes the new movie will be good.

We also purchased our first vinyl today:

It's one of Bilby's favourite albums so I got it for her Birthday tomorrow.

 We also have plants:

This one is mine:

Also, our cat:

She's gotten huge! She's still adorable though.

If you're wondering where all my games are, I haven't unpacked them yet. I don't think I need to quite yet, since:

I maybe have too many on Steam. Just a few.

But yeah. That's my house! No pics from the outside because I don't want people to find my address and track me down to convince me of the merits of butt stuff.

Love the skull with the cactus. Sounds like a band name, Skull Cactus.

That would be an awesome name for a sludgy stoner rock/metal band like Kyuss or Queens of the Stone Age!

I'm not coming to your house, but you SHOULD consider those merits.

Looked at your steam library amount... I'm still good. I don't have a problem yet.

Your home looks amazing, also the kitty looks soooo adorable! She is growing up :) Mine are 3 years old now and still act like kittens.

Have you read Brent Weeks Night Angel Trilogy? If not its pretty good. I need to finish it and start the Lightbringers series but I have sooo many books......so little time!

Aww cute! I'm definitely going to get another one as soon as Arya is desexed.

I haven't read those Brent Weeks ones yet, but my grandmother swears by them. I'm reading American Gods by Neil Gaiman atm, and after that, I have to read the next Robin Hobb trilogy before Bilby yells at me, and then start the Kingkiller Chronicles before they make that a show, and then...

Look. I have too much to read.

Books! More people need books in their homes. Also you sir have a lot of games on Steam. You might not have to unpack your other games for a while. Thanks for sharing pics of your new place, and just think, you now have a story that starts with "In my day I used to have to walk to X place, UPHILL"
