So yesterday I had this blog planned out where I was going to write a bit, get my thoughts out there and then hit the gym. Instead I got halfway through it, decided I could do better, and then went to the newly reopened neighborhood gym. My gym has been closed for a couple of months because some yahoos decided to break the fire sprinkler system which caused the building to flood and ruin the entire clubhouse space. Its open 24 hours a day and when business hours are over the employees shut the door that leads to the rest of the space leaving only the gym, ping pong room, and pool room with mini library open along with a couple of bathrooms. Anyways it reopened last weekend and yesterday was my first shot at it. The gym is back to normal except the two treadmills are still down, and it seems like two pieces of equipment haven't returned. Also the card entry pad isn't working yet so the gym door is still open. It was fun getting a sweat on, realizing how long it has been since I stepped foot in there and I ended that trip with a couple of laps in the pool. That's what kept me from finishing my blog. Good excuse? Cool, let's get back in the swing of things with what I played.

Before I start I just want to say that I am using Flickr to host my pics. Good folks at Flickr.com, give them a try. Also my pics for this blog live here

Chris Plays...

NBA 2K16 – Steam

Yeah broken record, I'm still playing this game BUT I tried something new; with all the moving and shaking going on with the NBA offseason I've decided to check out what the future NBA Super team will look like playing against the Golden State Warriors

Yep LeBron and his buddies in Houston. Houston already said they're going to make a push for Melo, and they already have CP3 and Harden. In another version I didn't add LaMarcus Aldridge to the team and instead kept their young center. I did however add D-Wade and Rondo to the bench because why not.

Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes – Steam

Yep the game I called a demo is back because I bought the Metal Gear Solid pack with this game and V, most likely from Steam Summer Sale. I started with the “game” err demo to get back into the swing of the game. I learned from my previous attempt to not run and gun (you would think I would have remembered from the PS1/PS2/PSP games)

My Splinter Cell moment. I'm taking my time through the game, I have a groove where I don't move as much and surprise it works. Who would have thought? Anyways enjoying the experience all over again and I can't wait to jump into V. Speaking of V, I really need to play III and IV.

Batman Arkham Knight – Steam

Full disclosure, I'm using a cheat to play this game and here's my reasoning: I already played through the game legit on the PS4, enjoyed the heck out of it, so when I'm playing through it again why not get a little more out of the experience? God Mode, having an extra long reach with the Bat Claw, and I think unlimited turbo on the Batmobile err tank he rolls in. For added fun I kicked the game up to Hard for that extra kick. In my previous attempt on the PC I got to maybe 50% of the way through the main story but decided it would be more fun to play on Hard, so I started over and I am at my first big mission which is to get to the radio tower.

I do like that Batman doesn't kill yet he leaves a lot of bodies in his wake, and his car has a big a** gun, and likes to shock people as it drives past them. Again if this game was less vehicle and more Batman it would have been a lot better.

Mighty No. 9 – Steam

This wasn't a Steam Summer Sale but a random one day sale from like Bundle Stars or IndieGala for $5. Last night I decided to give it a spin before watching Jeopardy, and I liked it. It's a pretty Mega-Man that doesn't have a huge footprint on my external storage (2GB?). I got through the introduction stage and now I'm at the part where I have to choose who I go after. It would have been fun if the developers went full Mega-Man clone and had the Hollywood Squares/Brady Bunch layout.

Upside Down – Steam

The final game I'm going to talk about is easily my favorite out of the group so far because its so simple yet challenging. Upside Down is one of the games that came in a random bundle I bought and decided to play and it is freaking fun! The goal is simple: get your guy across the screen to the checkpoint by only using the up and down keys. This changes the gravity of the game and the character can be upside down. It's a puzzle game so there are switches and obstacles to avoid which leads to a lot of character dying but it is a lot of fun trying to figure out how to get from point A to point B using skill, timing, and a lot of luck.

Alright Pixlpeeps I am off. I'll probably continue getting back to catching up on blogs (30 to go!) and I do want to head back to the gym, hop on the bike for a half hour, finish my documentary on sneakers and then do some laps in the pool. Have a good week!

That's all for now, more later!

Ah, Flickr to the rescue!

I've been meaning to check out those new Metal Gear games but just haven't had the time. People either rave or complain about them, but they seem interesting at least.

Yep for right now Flickr is the new home. If I ever get around to it, I'll also setup another Facebook to host pictures.

I like the Metal Gear games, but I'm more on the casual side. I still have MG III on the Vita I need to tackle and I did buy IV when it was a buck but its currently sitting in the video game closet.

I think I still have Ground Zeroes. I have to try that. MGSV sounds pretty fun, from what I've heard of it.

It's not too bad. You get a taste of the game to the point where you want to play the rest of the story. I need to hurry and finish so I can jump into V.

I want to attach balloons to everything.

Always a good excuse. Never give someone shit for getting SWEET GAINS, I say. I'm honestly jealous of your gym. Could go for a swim after my workouts. I do when I'm with my folks sometimes anyway, but it would be convenient to have in same facility.

Dirk just forfeited millions of his contract so Mavs could get ... Someone. All I've heard. Waiting for Dirk's statue to go up and for how lit Dallas will be when the inevitable retirement parade occurs.

I need to play MGS 3 and 4 as well. My problem with stealth games is my impatience. I actually did run and gun through MGS2 on normal.

I still love AK Batmobile. But yeah, Batman would DEFINITELY have killed at least a few people whose heads he slammed in generators. Lol

Mighty No. 9 looks so good, but reviews keep me at bay; maybe they've patched it since.

Upside Down sounds like it could either be very fun or extremely frustrating.

Sounds like you're doing circuits! I did 20 minutes of AMRAP stuff yesterday and ate at Culver's today, since I'm in Missouri for work. Yeah, I'm gonna get far again ..

I'm easing back into the gym mode right now so no gains but I'm slowly building back my stamina in the pool. It'll be awhile before I get back to my usual pace. The pool is a nice spot but I have to go early before the teens show up.

Its nice to see a player stick with one team. It's become a rarity. I don't follow the Mavericks but the key is to build for the future. The Bulls on the other hand seem to have people who have no idea running the ship, and that ship is headed straight for icebergs.

I loved 2. That was a lot of fun to play on the PS2. The one spot that always got me was the part on the ship where you had to crawl while everyone was watching a presentation. My timing always sucked.

So far Mighty No.9 isn't bad and I really can't complain because it was a $5 game. If anything I can just call it a rental.

Upside Down is both. I usually like to blame my laptop's keyboard, but most likely its my timing.
