$40?! I'd rather just keep playing the karaoke and dancing minigames in Yakuza Zero.
Never played Dirt, but if it is arcade-style, I'll try it.

In an attempt to get my postings back on track it is Monday and I am here typing away while eating breakfast and watching Dream Cruises on AWE. The episode that I have on is about a cruise ship that is smaller than the typical ships because it also sails, so they can either travel with nature with a good old fashion diesel engine. Kind of interesting and it roams around part of the Caribbean. Anyways you're not here for that, you're here for whatever random games I decided to play this week.
Dirt 3 – Steam
I jumped back into this game because I wanted to do some racing that was a mix of off-road and street tracks. Now I do like the Dirt series but the one thing I don't care about Dirt 3 is the one timed race where you have to do a set of obstacles. I can't get the hang of making my car spin in an area, and I don't find running through barriers and doing donuts around barrels fun. Everything else in the game I enjoy. Being able to do the races along with Rally is what I like to do because its a mix of everything.
Beat Fever – iOS/Android
I decided to give this a try last night on Android because it was closest thing I had to me while on the couch. Beat Fever is a Band Hero like freemium game where you play one minute snippets of songs while tapping on a game board you've seen on any plastic instrument game.
There are four buttons on the game board and the usual buttons come down that you have to hit, while keeping time with the music. The game gives you a couple of objectives to complete during the song like hit X number of combos and score over a certain amount of points. The little buttons you hit can be upgraded which I am assuming helps with score and combos. There is a little mission mode where you progress by completing songs and taking on bosses. To unlock more difficult levels you have to complete the levels before it. There is a multiplayer mode where you take on other player's which is basically a beat a person's score.
Since this is a freemium game the in-app purchases are everywhere. The game runs on lightning and each game cost a couple of lightning bolts. Once you exhaust your lightning you can either wait for it to refill or spend in game jewels to buy more. I didn't notice this page until this morning when I installed the game on my iPad
From what I've played so far I like this game but there is no way this game is worth $40. I would rather pay the $15 for Rockband Blitz and be able to purchase song packs separately. At least with this option I will have the full tracks, and be able to play the game without having to be connected to the internet. Also this game feels more like a casual mobile game, and not a full on $40 game.
The one thing I really liked was that at the end of every song there was a button to check out the full song. The game connects to such media streaming/purchasing applications like Spotify and Google Music. You can connect your memberships to each within the game which is a nice feature.
Overall Beat Fever is a fun casual game where you can get your plastic instrument game fix on with the latest and greatest songs. I wouldn't spend real money on the game but that's me. Anyways fun game, and worth a try.
Alright Pixlpeeps I am off. I have get going and I need to catch up on your blogs. Have a good week!
That's all for now, more later!
