25 Years of Batman: The Animated Series

Hiya everyone, how are ya? Sorry if I haven't posted in a while blah blah blah. Okay now that that's out of the way, today is/was the 25th anniversary of what I consider the greatest cartoon and superhero show of all time: Batman: The Animated Series.

I get so nostalgic and excited whenever I see and hear this

This show really means a lot to me. I remember this being the first cartoon I was exposed to at a very young age and Batman was the first superhero I was exposed to as well. I remember watching this every time it was on. Eventually Cartoon Network picked it up and started watching it there too. It was great watching it every night. It just felt right having it at that time. That and what I consider the best cartoon versions of Batman and the Joker thanks to the voice talents of Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill. That and all the many fantastic voice actors who put everything they had into bringing all the characters to life.

As kids, we thought it was a fun cartoon about Batman. But watching it now, you'll notice how brilliantly well written it was as well as the characters. It wasn't dumbed down at all because it was for kids, as the show was never afraid to get dark with many of its episodes. The show even has its moments that hits you right in the feels. This show really stands the test of time today and feel no cartoon about superheroes comes close. Maybe Batman Beyond and Spectacular Spider-man come close. I watch this every year and if you haven't seen it recently, I highly recommend that you do and you'll see what I mean.

So, instead on going on about how amazing the show is, because we all know how amazing it is, and I could go on and on about how much I love it (spoiler: a ton)  I'm gonna ask: What are your top 10 episodes of Batman: TAS? Just the original 85 episodes. I mean the whole series is fantastic but there's definitely episodes we love more than the rest. But if you wanna include episodes from The New Batman Adventures, then go ahead.

And that's about it. I'll be back next time with my favorite episodes. So thanks for reading and happy 25th anniversary Batman: TAS!

you have to be impressed with a cartoon or book or movie that has dark themes, but still is enjoyable by kids and adults alike. A lot of times when people say "adult", they mean sex or violence. But adult content is about more than that.

This show means a lot to me too. I think Netflix streams it. I should watch some.

I first watched this cartoon in high school.  I really liked it a lot.  I would watch Animaniacs and then this.  This cartoon is the reason why I know more about Batman than other super heroes.  I read that it was this cartoon that created Harley Quinn.

I don't think I could list my top ten favorite epiosdes without having to do some research, though.  I don't remember the cartoon in THAT much detail.  But I don't think I could make a top ten episode list of any cartoon I liked.  Maybe Rescue Rangers, I dunno.

I love the show a lot too. I'd like to marathon it sometime. I don't know if I've seen every single episode.

I loved this series, it was my go to series along with the Simpsons and TMNT when I was a teenager. It was better written than most adult sitcoms and dramas. I had a long post here, but it pretty much turned into a blog. :)

I loved the show, but if I'm being honest I watched the 90s Spider-Man cartoon more often. I can hardly remember full episodes of either show, let alone make a top ten.

Oddly enough, my favorite "superhero" show is still the Avatar cartoon series, both the original and Korra. And those aren't exactly nostalgic, since I didn't watch the original until I was 22!

Are they doing anything special for Batman TAS 25th Anniversary though? I'd love to know if they're doing a special DVD/Blu Ray or something. I'd probably get more out of the show now than I did then.
