And I was under the impression it was going to be available on dlc, and unfortunately it a physicle game so if you want this expansion you will have to buy the game which is $40 at most retailers, this is bad news to us who own the game cause i paid almost the same for the full game three months ago and now if i want this expansion not a new game i have to buy the same game again whith the expansion added on. not to sure i like where they went with this they really should have gave you the option to buy the dlc to add on to our exsisting game, they did try to compensate by giving you in game currency and unlimited ferry tokens but sorry Capcom thats not enough to justify another forty dollar game with an expansion added on mmmmmm reminds me of something EA would do.

I have mine pre ordered, I had originally bought this when it first released at the 60 dollar price tag. Im okay with this new expansion being 40$, I waited specfically for this to release since I heard about it months ago since I dont have the game anymore.

well i wouldnt mind it so much but i still have my game and its really hard to justify a new game when i just bought this one.

I agree, a dlc option would be fair. Fortunatelly I didn't bite the first time. Capcom's business ethics certainly have made me more careful. lol.

well at least honor us that bought the game at full retail with an option of course i didnt know Capcom followed EAs evil ways lol.

I will probably buy this and put it directly on the shelf where it will probably sit until we end up covering it on Backloggers Anon someday.

Capcom is so bad. You and I are fanboys of this great game, so if we aren't willing to re-buy the whole game again, who is the game meant for? I will wait for a major price drop of Dark Arisen, but for $40, really capcom, I have a huge list of back log games I want to buy and Dark Arisen is not one of them. Now go ahead and blame foreigners for poor design all you want, this is poor sales design and it's all on you Capcom.

Buying the game again after the original came out a year ago, sounds like Capcom to me.  I'm glad I didn't buy the game.  I really wanted it too, but I learned my lesson about Capcom.  I wait.  I would of been one pissed person if I'd paid $60 for this game and then got this news.

Well at least i waited and got it for $40 3 months ago and im still pissed couldnt imagine paying $60 but well this is gaming for ya ups and downs and just plain turn around lol!!!!

I dont know what i would do...it depends on just how much I liked the game and how bad I wanted the DLC.  I just dont know.

I love the game i admit im a fanboy but im just not ready to sink $40 into an expansion pack that should be available as an add on and knowing my luck i would buy the game and they would release dlc for it lol.

The original full game is included with this right?

And I think Capcom released a statement saying that it couldn't be released as DLC because of the sheer size and tack-on issues in regards to downloading and patching. But they offered incentives, which by the sounds of it aren't that great.. Bummer.

well in some retrospect i do understand the size issue but for god sakes give game owners a trade in value toward the game and im not talking the $15 gamestop will give you as a trade in lol.and yes it does include the base game as well.

I was pretty bummed when I found out it wasn't going to be available as DLC....so I am selling my original copy and gonna get the new one instead.

I'm pretty sure the expansion is available as a download as is all the fixes and updates to the interface and everything. That's what I've heard, they're trying to make it easier on people who bought the original game by allowing them to get just the expansion and get a patch or whatever for all the fixes they made. People who played the first game can import their old character into the new content. The disc version is likely more just for people who missed out on the game the first time, like me.

I'm super excited for this re-release because I haven't played the game, I waited and now it's the perfect time for me to get it. It's a really good choice on Capcom's part and it's great that it's at reduced price and I'm getting the full game plus a big expansion and tons of new items, upgrade stuff, technical fixes, enemies, and other stuff. I'm almost done with Dark Souls so I need to get this Dragon's Dogma re-release so that I have another RPG to hop into.

From what i have heard and read its to large for dlc so they will sell the disc only and as an enccentive they give owners of the original free in game currency and unlimited ferry tokens, so unless they announced something as of yesterday all i heard and read was no dlc for this one.

Sorry to hear about all of the troubles surrounding the game and people who have already bought a copy of it. Good news for me though, I've had my eye on it for quite some time now and have just never gotten around to picking it up. Now I have even more reason to go out a grab it.

Well its a great deal if you have not already got it, like myself. But for the folks who dropped $60 when the sales really count it is a huge middle finger. They could have just sold the dlc on disc if they didn't want to do it online. Gearbox recently did this with the dlc for Borderlands 2, although it only has the first three add ons.

My son really wants this game. But now I wonder if we should wait. Or buy the new version with it included. That is so messed up to do to your original consumers. The ones like you who believed in it enough to make the game successful.

I too was under the impression this would be released digitally alongside physical copies, same as Street Fighter: AE was handled (I'm sure I could find a quoted article stating as much).

As many people here have referenced, I'm the guy that payed full price in the 1st week to help support this awesome game, but damn, cut me some slack; I had $15-$20 all ready for this thing and now Capcom is asking me to double up at no added benefit...

The saddest part of all? If the US release has that cover art, I'm buying it, and voting with my ($) to perpetuate this non-existant customer service further.
