Ok so before I get sucked into ripping CDs I need to get this entry going. So good morning Pixlpeeps and Hello Fall! Summer you were fun but hot damn it was hot this year and I am ready for cooler weather and folks going crazy over pumpkin spice everything. So here we are and I am ready to recap the fun events of the last couple of weeks that really had nothing to do with video games, except for buying a couple of cheap ones. Anyways let's get started!

Chris Watches...

CSI – USA & SyFy

For the past couple of weeks I've been watching old episodes especially the early Grissom years. Oh these shows were the best and when it was originally aired I could always be found in front of my TV. At some point I really should just break down and buy the early seasons on DVD.

Big Brother – CBS

This season finally ended on what I call the worst cast ever assembled. The best part was when the mastermind behind it all Paul, lost to the fool who just banged pots and pans all season. The same guy who would talk trash to you but when you threw it back at him he would cry and ask why you hate him. This unlikeable cast had a “gamer” who all she did was drink a 2 liter of Coke, wear cat ears, and complain, a guy who ate cereal 24/7, his girlfriend who thought her GPA was dance, and found new illnesses every single day, and a motivational speaker who wanted the house guests to question the military service of one guest in hopes he would hit someone. Yes the most unlikeable group is gone. This season would be tolerable if the people in the house actually played instead of following around Paul like he was a cult leader. Thank goodness there is going to be a celebrity edition of Big Brother this winter. Hell I will pay for the all access pass to watch.

The Challenge XXX: Dirty 30 – MTV

Last week the Camilanator went off and used some racist language towards Leroy. Leroy kept calm, which is amazing considering I would have gotten into an argument. Well after Camila was removed from the house for a night she came back and gave a sort of apology. Again Leroy being the bigger person accepted. Now this is what MTV did: they didn't air the scenes where she dropped her language but aired footage of her talking about his skin color. This week they aired some special where they talked about race instead of the obvious kicking Camila out from the show. I think she's getting special treatment because she's a returning character on the show and if it was a rookie doing this they would be sent home and not invited back.

Everyday Struggle – Complex News on YouTube

Before a couple of weeks ago I would watch one episode every so often but for the past month I've been watching every morning. By watching I mean I have the tab open, it plays and I go do something else, so it's kind of like a podcast. Anyways it is a discussion show like PTI with Joe Budden and DJ Akademiks where they talk about what's going on in the world of music, but its more hip-hop based. What I like is that they talk about artists I don't follow, or topics I really don't care about because they're outside of what I listen to. Its something new and I've discovered a couple of acts that I would check out on Mixtapes.

Chris Listens To...

There really isn't much that is new CD wise because I haven't been to the local mom and pop shop in a couple of weeks. Just being lazy and ripping my current collection to the music drive that I will use with my travel laptop. I have however been using a lot of this setup which I have named the cheapo setup

01

Remember the Ausdom M08 Bluetooth headphones I bought for $25? Well I've paired them with my Coolpad Canvas cell phone turned MP3 player and I've been enjoying the music and podcasts. The only thing that sucks with this setup is that the star ratings don't transfer from MP3 player to the Musicbee player on the external hard drive. If I do the star ratings on Musicbee then it shows up on Rocket Player. The playcount I sync with Last.fm and for the most part it is fine.

As for podcasts I've been just skippinng episodes of ones I am subscribed to. There is a lot of content on the Adam Carolla show I've been skipping: I don't care for the Chet Waterhouse stuff, his sports section with Dave Dameshek, the news with Gina Grand, and anytime he tells a story I've heard before. Now its come down to who's the person being interview, do I want to listen to it, and then I move on.

The politial podcasts I've been shrinking down to once a week. Is the topic interesting enough or is it something I want to know more about. If its the usual bitching then I skip.

The only shows I've been listening to religiously are the No Quitters podcast which recaps The Challenge, Rob Has a Podcast which recaps/discusses Big Brother, and Joe Budden's podcast where it sounds like three friends talking for an hour and a half and the last segment is each person plays a song from someone that doesn't get a lot of play from the radio and often times I end up downloading their mixtapes.

Pickups

Bundle Stars had this special last week where every day there was a new bundle and I bought a couple of them

02

Game of Thrones is some Role Play game that apparently is different from the Telltale game. The bundle is a group of 9 RPG, FPS, and Action games that seem like fun. Not bad for $5.50

The next bundle I bought

03

I bought it because the game Tempest looked the most interesting because pirates and sea battles. Everything else is just a bonus if I enjoy them.

The final bundle group of games I bought are

04

I already have the collection on the iPad but why not have it again on PC? The other dollar bundle I bought for Platypus II which is the sequel to the Platypus game on the PSP. Again that alone is worth the buck so anything else I like from the bundle is a bonus.

These bundles are still on their site Bundlestars <---Link to their bundles page

Alright Pixlpeeps I am itchin' to get back to ripping CDs. I have three books left of Albums and then two for Singles and then I sort through the folder of digital singles before this library is finished. I'm close! Anyways have a good weekend!

That's all for now, more later!

-Chris

For the song of the week I decided to spotlight this guy who has been making Hard Knocks like video for SDSU. He does a hell of a job and I thought I'd share the one he made for last week's game against Stanford. The one thing he missed on was not including the portion where the lights went out in the stadium, and the fans held their cell phones up and the I Believe That We Will Win cheer happened. Other than that it is one hell of a video. Have a good weekend!

I really don't have much to add here, so I will just say hello.

my favorite Atari game, Solaris, is never in those Atari collections. ANd while I love Atari games, I cannot forgive this terrible sin.
