I've played through two of the golf course levels in Golf Story now, and I really like the game. It's nice and chill and relaxing, and golfing isn't easy. But it's also a cute story and a neat little world, kind of like a Golf JRPG. Very interesting concept, and I enjoy it.

I also bought Axiom Verge yesterday but haven't played it yet. I'm quite excited to jump into that as I've heard a lot of great things from friends.

In other news, my new "Crumbling Sky" book by myself and my friend Gregg came out yesterday and is here:

Check it out!

In other news, I've just been writing a lot, and playing a little D&D, and doing some reading. ANd watching football, of course.

I'm curious about Axiom Verge, but it looks less like a Metroidvania and more like a traditional Metriod game. The only Metroid game I played (the original), I didn't like.

I played a bit today and I really liked it. The control/feel of it is really tight. The sound is great too.  I'll report more on it once I've played more.

I like these mashup games. Golf seems a good choice, too.

I emailed the developers of Golf Story to try and get a review code, but they haven't responded yet.  I'd download the game myself, but I have too many other games to play right now.  Gofl Story reminds me of a fictional video game Steven played in an episode of Steven Universe.

Axiom Verge is a FANTASTIC game.  Not quite as good as Super Metroid, but still a great tribute to that 16-bit classic.  It won my "Best 2-D Adventure" award last year, even beating out Kirby: Planet Robobot.  That's how much I liked it.
