I've played quite a few forgettable games recently. They are the kind of thing I play and feel not only that I'll forget about in a few months, but almost instantly after I finish playing them. Or at least I feel that I don't remember much in comparison to some great games that I have played recently. Here are some of the forgettable games I played:
Red Faction Armageddon
This is a gimmick game. Gimmick games are usually forgettable. The gimmick here being destructible environments. Now, this definitely isn't the first game to feature destructible environments, but it did come out at a time shortly before that was commonplace. The thing about this game is that aside from the destructibility, it has almost nothing else going for it; bland enemies, bland environments, bland weapons, bland story and characters... Needless to say, I didn't play this one long.
Resident Evil Revelations
The first Revelations game felt like a pretty barebones re-skin of Resident Evil 6, except clearly made with the portable in mind. This means the levels are bite-sized and that makes all the difference. RE6 wasn't great, but it had lots of mayhem and epic scale, making it not forgettable like Revelations.
Resident Evil Revelations 2
This one was completely different from the first game. Revelations 2 was much more of a Last of Us clone; a not very good one at that. Though much better than the first Revelations, I still felt this one was just as forgettable thanks to it shamelessly copying The Last of Us. This game also had a pretty terrible story, even by Resident Evil standards.
Gone Home: Console Edition
Gone Home is definitely the most forgettable of the bunch, thanks to it barely being over an hour long. It's not that it was such a terrible hour either, but almost nothing really happened. This is the first walking simulator I've ever played, and I can likely say I won't be playing any more of them anytime soon. I'm actually kind of repulsed they charged money for this game (thankfully, I got it for free). This is the kind of indie game that should have been given away at no charge.
So, those are my forgettable games that I've played recently. I ask you, Pixlbit, "What are some of the forgettable games you have played recently?" I say recently, because you may have forgotten about the older ones.
