Happy Columbus Day Pixlpeeps! It is a breezy morning here in Southern California and I am ready to do some sharing on what I have played this past week. To be honest I haven't played a lot because I've been busy and when I did have a spare minute or two I went with casual games because its easy to bring up on a phone/tablet, get your fix and then go on about your business.

 

Bang Bang Racing – Steam

I finished this game early last week unlocking the all the available cars after finishing the final championship. I was getting a bit dizzy during the 4 star races especially during the sections of the tracks with a lot of turns because the camera would constantly move to be behind the car, and add that with the speed of the cars it can get a bit disorienting at times.

After finishing the game I was prompted to go back and try and unlock all the different color schemes. I thought about but decided I wanted to play another game instead of trying to track down new liveries. I like the game but it is like every other solid arcade racing game but this one has aggressive AI which can be good and bad. Good in that the races are close, with solid competition, bad because there is a lot of crashing which can cost your races. Bang Bang is geared toward more multiplayer which is fine because this could be a fun multiplayer game.

 

Super Mario Run – iOS

Well I bought this when it was released, played through it within a week and then forgot about it. Last week there was an update for the new Remix 10 feature. This is still the same concept of Run but the levels are super short, the goal is to collect three rainbow coins, and you play through 10 levels per world all for one ticket.

 

Usually in the world there is one level where you either race in a remixed world (something completely new), play as a different character, or go through a level that offers double rainbow coins. Once you finish the run of 10 levels you get a bonus stage where you can unlock an item from the Store and you can place it in you version of the Super Mario Land.

 

After this the rainbow coins are added up and I think after every 30 rainbow coins you unlock a special question mark box where you can unlock a more rare item from the store.

 

So far I really like this Remix game because it breathes new life into the game, and I can burn some of the tickets I've been collecting. I used to play a lot of the multiplayer but after a while it got repetitive and now having this other option opens the game up for me.

 

 

In other games I'm playing I am in NBA 2K16 I am still in year 3 and the chemistry is at 99%. I don't think I will make a trade this season unless something really good is offered because I like the first team as much as the second team. NCAA Football my Dynasty ASU squad was living dangerously by having a streak of five games where they were losing in the fourth quarter only to have the team come back with a game winning drive. It finally bit the team in the a** against Oregon State when OSU intercepted the pass to end the game. This dropped ASU from 2^nd to 5^th with two games left. The next two games were blowouts and the the PAC 12 Title game was close but since the number 1 team in the country lost the Conference title game pushed the Sun Devils to #1 and it was a blowout victory in University of Phoenix Stadium against Rutgers. It was a basically a home game because it was in Glendale Arizona.

Disney Emoji Blitz had a three day event where you could unlock chests by collecting keys that pop up on the game board during normal play. I unlocked every chest and earned a bonus 15k in gold coins. Once you get to the silver chest the keys had a timer on them and when time ran out the key would disappear. This was frustrating but luckily I managed to collect enough keys to unlock everything. In Injustice 2 I'm still just logging in, collecting my freebies and logging out but I have been trying to unlock the shards to upgrade the fancy Aquaman to four stars, and I've been playing more Arena. If I use higher ranked characters I get a bigger bonus so I might use my gold characters.

 

Yesterday I installed Steam on my little travel laptop with the hopes that it has enough processing power to run low end games and it runs match three games with no problems. I had my big laptop running and it turns out I can stream my library from that computer to the little travel laptop. Kind of a nice surprise and I will probably give this a try later on this week.
