I'm glad you feel a little better.
I SOOO want to play the South Park games. I saw that you get Stick of Truth when you buy Fractured. That's cool. I need to play both of them. . . wait a minute. I can rent Fractured. Just put it on my Gamefly.

Ya ever think you would see those 2 games in title together? I sure as hell wouldnt. However I did beat 2 games this month and sense I havent been in great health mental wise I decided to take some great advice from one of out lovely bloggers here*Thanks Knight!* and make it easier for myself. Im just gonna give each one a paragraph and call it done. Hopefully November is a better month. I only got 2 more games to beat guys, Im at 10.
Shantae 1/2 Genie Hero
Shantae is back and having had a successful kickstarter she is better than ever. We all know Kickstarter has had more failures but Shantae isnt one of those. They made a really great game and while it can be a simple platformer it also is fun and easily enjoyable. Like the previous games you play as Shantae who has magical genie abilities to fight any and all who threaten Sequin land. Of course that includes Risky and all the Barons. Essentially Risky is the main villian but the Barons have their grand entrances. Upon completing the first level you are taken to the main hub for the game. It has the store which sells health items, abilities and upgrades. The bath where you can regain your health. Shantae's Uncle's shop technically mostly used for story. The Art Gallery you use keys you find to unlock doors and Skys Loft which you use for travel. Upon advancing things you travel to different levels that have collectibles and abilities you can get. Abilities are mostly for Shantae's other forms which she has several. If you are not a fan of backtracking Im gonna tell ya now, you back track, quite a bit in this game. I wouldnt say its overly done but until you get all the forms and abilities you wont be able to get everything in each level when you first travel there. If your looking for a nice small platformer type game to relax to, this is your game. Its not terribly complicated and honestly you can literally grind the 1st level and buy all the upgrades right from the start. Especially if you suck like I do at these.
South Park The Fractured But Whole
First and foremost If you do not like South Parks humor. You will not like this game. I doubt the gameplay would highly be enough to keep you going. This game is literally like a 20+ hour episode. The humor is right on point with the show and I know not everyone is entertained by it. I am. I enjoy SP quite a bit. Ive watched the show for years. I was watching it when I shouldnt have been as a kid. Im just giving a heads up.
So I really didnt see a sequel to The Stick of Truth happening. Not that I didnt enjoy the first game and think it should have a second. I just thought, the Stick of truth came about at really rough time. Its original publisher closed during development and while Ubisoft did step in and buy the rights to publish, I kind of thought this might be a 1 and done. However they give us TFBW and I cant help but wonder will we please get a third? I extremely enjoyed and had a ton of fucking fun playing this game. Its not super long, its about a 20-30 hour RPG but thats not bad in my book. We get these 60 to 100 hour ones and wonder how we will finish it. Hell I played several RPGs this year that rounded to 80 or 100 more hours. The combat is still turn based but with a grid system unlike TSOT. It still as timed button presses for defending and using attacks. Also its Super Heroes instead of fantasy characters. While I know for some might be overdone by now with Marvel and DC but South Park of course puts its own little spin on it. Your are of course the new kid still and the story continues right from the first game. The awesome thing is you can be a girl in this one. Now the boys will still think your a boy but you can identify as a girl and I was quite happy they put that in. Not to mention some of the stuff you do is just for me extremely hilarious for a girl to do. Anyway once you get to choose your first class you can be either a Speedster-Flash, Brutailst-Hulk, or Blaster-I cant think of anyone.....regardless as you continue the main storyline you get way more classes to use. I used Blaster first and my SO used Speedster. Speedster actually is a good class, you literally have a move that lets you have more turns. Blaster isnt bad, its just the typical fire user class. Now I was a bit disappointed that you dont get new moves for classes as you progress, you just unlock more different ones and change your moves in and out. The game relies on your character having enough Might from artifacts to increase your strength and health. Leveling up grants more sports for artifacts. The level up system goes up quite slow too, you dont get a lot of XP from battles but you do get XP as well from completeing objectives like fighting so many of the different enemy types or pooping in toilets successfully. Having enough Might never was an issue, always seemed you could shoot passed what ya needed. Overall I enjoyed this game, It was like particpating in an actual episode of South Park. I like the changes they made, I think they definitely improved passed the first. Again, if you dont like SP I dont see this being a game for you. Im hoping the DLC adds more to game, there is suppose to be story based stuff. The game kind of leaves off on a cliffhanger so either they got ideas of a third game or DLC will fill that part in.
Anyway here are the reviews. I finally got them finished. Im just glad I was able, my mental health has taken quite a hit these last few weeks. Its improved, some. However I only have 2 games to beat this year. November and December. I will finish this!
I really like Shantae: Half Genie Hero, but I was also disappointed with it because it's more straightforward than the other Shantae games are. The other ones play more Metroid-like than this one. This one made me think more of Mega Man for some reason. But that got me to thinking that I would love it if Capcom would let WayForward make a Mega Man game!
I imagine they wanted to try something new for the series. I found out that they are suppose to do several expansions where you play as other characters. They already released Riskys but I haven't fully started it yet. I never have played a mega man game so I guess the comparison falls passed me.
I wasn't completely turned off by the combat in South Park, which is a shame because I was bored with what I played of the demo. I used to really like SP episodes, but lately I just ... eh.
Then again, maybe it just wasn't the right time for me to play it.
I forgot Shantae had a Kickstarter. Good for her. I enjoyed the one game I played where she turned into different animals.
