Hello Friday! Hello Pixlpeeps and hey look two posts in a week. I'm slowly getting back into that groove. I'm currently listening to news stories about Catalonia declaring independence from Spain. It's interesting to listen to and hearing the people cheering. So what non gaming things have I been up to? Let's take a quick recap:

A couple of weeks ago I went to San Diego for the weekend. During this trip I caught a cold, and two weeks later I just have to shake the cough and I should be good to go. I've been taking Emergen-C for almost the entire time and I think it's working (it's probably in my head) and eating soup. While on this trip we went to a bar that had another bar within the original bar. I guess it's a new thing where people make reservations to go to the smaller bar in the back. We didn't know we had to make a reservation so there was a 20 minute wait so we hit the regular bar

01

This was over the bar. There was also a wildlife scene in the front where a taxidermy scene of a lion jumping on a wildebeest. It was an interesting spot. By the time our spot was ready for the bar within the bar, we were ready to leave so I didn't get to be super trendy.

While in San Diego we decided to hit up something I haven't been to in a long time, and that is the San Diego Swap Meet aka Kobey's. It's by the Sports Arena (I thin it's called Valley View Casino Arena now) and it's a typical swap meet. There were some things I liked but some of the prices were a little high, and there were tons of CDs. I didn't buy any but I did find some cool stuff from a family, and from a guy who bought the contents of a Storage Locker and hit the jackpot.

02

I added another Deadpool to my collection. I can take the swords and sword holder off a Ninjago minifigure. A complete Woody completes the random Lego set I bought from a thrift store a couple of years ago, and a Christmas Advent Calendar C-3P0. In total I spent I think $12 which is less than what Deadpool is going for.

From the Storage Locker guy he was starting to put items away but he had a ton of OG Starting Lineup Figures. He was telling me he bought a locker and had 1500 pieces, all were new and were in plastic tubs. He gave me a 3 for $12 deal so I picked up

03

One of my favorite players growing up, Larry Johnson

04

A 1996 Paul Kariya

05

And a 1998 Paul Kariya

I could have probably found these for cheaper on eBay but shipping would have been a pain but hey it's always fun to find stuff at the swap meet especially of my favorite players.

San Diego was fun, and I got a swanky cold instead of a t-shirt!

In other news I'm close to filling up my dedicated music hard drive and I've begun looking at buying another 4TB drive. It's overkill but I won't have to worry about space for years. I still have 80GBs of space on the 1TB drive I'm using so there's no rush. When I'm done adding music I will start moving audiobooks to this drive.

So I bought some games earlier this week

06

Three racing games for $23 bucks isn't bad. So you read about my problems with Toy Box Turbos that has now been fix. I really haven't played much of Dirt Rally because it keeps crashing and I think I have the graphics settings are too high. I just changed them and after I finish uploading this entry I'll give it a try.

Some Hot Wheel Finds

They moved the dump bin from in front of the toys section to the walkway by showerheads. I'm assuming this is because there was some room there, and there were a mountain of cars. Under one mound was the new set of Justice League cars. I thought about buying the complete set but I really didn't care for the set as a whole so instead I bought

07

I opened the gray 98 Batmobile and when I go back to Walmart I'll pick up another Justice League Batmobile to open. I'm going to need to buy one of those car cases for the loose cars.

At Toys R Us they opened the new case of cars early because they weren't in the system but the manager did the override (I wish he did that when I tried to buy the Lego Hulkbuster early and he said no) and I got these cars

08

He let me know there was another Milano out there but I told him I already had that one. I should have bought another Nissan so I could open it. Hopefully I will run into another one.

Final pickup was from Walmart

09

When I went last week there were a ton of these figures along with Halo, Star Trek, and I think Call of Duty. I went back earlier this week and there were maybe two pegs of figures and most were either Picard, or COD guys. Hopefully reseller guy didn't buy them all because I thought they are cool figures especially for $5.

Alright Pixlpeeps I am off. Have a good weekend, and it's time for me to enjoy the weekend. Last night I finally hooked up my 360 after not using it for at least 6-7 months and I might sneak in a game. Have a good weekend!

That's all for now, more later!

-Chris

I like those hockey figures. I'd like some old school Flyers.

They are a fun to have because of the nostalgia. I didn't get to buy these as a kid because I was bummed they didn't move like GI Joes. I need to start hitting the swap meets again to look for loose figures.

I'm kind of into figures now since Skylanders and Disney Infinity. I'm going to keep my eye out too for interesting sales on the stuff.

I love those He-Man mini figures. He Man is so cool.

Yeah, it can be tough sometimes to shake a cough after one gets sick. I got sick about two months ago but I was coughing for like two weeks.

Bar within a bar within a bar, huh?

They are freaking cool figures even if they are a little bigger than Lego minifigures. I might hit another Walmart today to see if they have any so I can have a set I can open.

Yeah it was weird, there was a bar and then a more exclusive bar inside that made Tiki Drinks. I guess this is for the hipster folks.

How drunk was the nature scenery?
