Super Mario Odyssey: Day One Opinion

So as you all know I'm a Nintendo fan. And as such I bought Super Mario Odyssey. (It's out today!!!) Anyways, what do I think of the game so far? Well I love it! Of course I'm not very far. I've only gotten 105 power moons (it's just so odd to say. I'm so used to power stars). But I'm having a blast. I'm going around collecting coins, jumping on goombas, and using cappy to my delight.

I have to say my curiousity gets to me. I like poking around corners and wandering around without much progress. But I'll often find something neat. There are a series of mystery cubes I haven't figured out, but when I do theres gonna be trouble. I've also found other nifty details like that Captain Toad is often spelunking around. I'm not sure how he gets to these places, but then again neither is he as he'll remark. Super Mario Odyssey is definitely vibrant, fun, and really great. I'm going back to play more. New Donk City is my next destination, and I want to go jump rope.

I went to Gamestop today and the sales guy was wearing a Mario hat. Then he tried to sell me a Mario bundled Switch. I really wish I could've taken him up on that offer. Apparently the game is getting stellar reviews. Good on Nintendo. It's a great year for them.

Hopefully I'll have a FT job again in a year or so and then I'm going to get the systems I don't have and catch up. Oh yes.

I'm in this weird zone of school and part time work. I feel like I'm on another planet. It's so strange. I may be doing this school thing for another two years. It makes me nervous not working that much for so long. But, I should get into something after that.

Hopefully everything works out for ya knightdriver. I've been in a similar situation in the past with college/job hurdles and being strapped for cash and seeing something and being like... welp...looks like I gotta wait.

Yeah, I didn't get to enjoy PS3/360/Wii at all in college, because my job took care of housing and food but didn't actually pay me anything.

I'm of two minds. In a way, it's good I can't spend on games and systems because I would have way too much to play. It's bad in that I can't at least rent games for Switch.

Absolutely. I was running around the wooded kingdom and fell and ended up in the deep woods down below. I was not expecting that. There are so many moons I've yet to discover. I want to find as many as possible on my own before I have to rely on hint Toad or a game guide.

I did! Scared the crap out of me the first time though. It was so dark and I heard the rumbling and I was like what the heck is that? Oh crap! Top hat T-REX!

I got to play it for an hour and a half before going to work. I like the 2-D 8-bit parts.

That stuff is real neat. I like when you have a different costume set-up and it's in 8-bit. I was like no way can they have it set for me with a chef's hat in boxers, but they do! Nintendo thinks of everything!

This game is straight up amazing. Played it pretty much all day yesterday. I think it has a real chance of dethroning Super Mario Sunshine as my favorite 3D Mario game. It's such an inventive and fun game. It shines a light on how little I really cared for the 3D Land/World entries in the series.

I have both Land and World and have never touched either of them. Sounds like I'm not missing much.

I had World, and while it was fun in some aspects such as the Captain Toad segments and the cat uit, it was more or less just another mario title. Odyssey is just so much better, and while I enjoyed parts of World...it's not as engaging as Odyssey.
