IN my time between getting ready for work and leaving for work, I can get about an hour of playtime in. The other day I ended up losing nearly all of that time to logging into xbox live. I could not remember what my email was, or my password, and then they asked me for my phone number. What a hassle.
Art,games,and GTFO, a fascinating new kick-starter!

Finished new art of Liam! I put it up on my DeviantArt page first which is mostly dead. I have no right to be upset about the lack of comments and views. I haven’t been social and active there for awhile so my ghost-town situation is self inflicted. Anyway, I like how this goes more into Liam’s powers as a shadow shaper. Additionally I did this one for my best friend’s birthday coming up on account Liam is based heavily upon both Alex and his RP character Knoss.
Before that my 360 asked me for my email & account info. This sucked because I had forgotten my password. To remedy this I tried changing my password to something else and the first few I thought up were taken. Finally I thought of something more original. Oh, but Microsoft wasn’t done griefing! They wanted me to list a back up email “just in case of whatever” so I asked my best friend to give me his. (He had already been helping me through the majority of this garbage so why not?) Alex likewise had to log in to confirm his authenticity so the whole fucked up process ended up taking about an hour.
Why you might ask? Probably because a few black-hat hackers managed to screw with people on Xbox live. You know how it is in the industry. If pirates or hackers manage to get one over on Sony or Microsoft the shit all runs down hill. This means more restrictions and security checks are put upon us, the consumers.
I just hope when the 360 is no longer supported online that it doesn’t become a plastic brick. I already realize certain multi-player modes in games I own will eventually become obsolete. However, if my whole console becomes useless I’m going to be friggin pissed off!
After all the hassle I did play a bit of Warriors Orochi 3. I needed something simple in design to jump into to blow off some steam and frustration!
Alisa from God-Eater Burst=Hawt!
Game-wise I’m kind of torn for next month. A part of me thinks I need a reason to visit my 360 more often. The other part of me wants to get more memory and more games for my newly acquired psp. (Again, thanks Dave!) God Eater burst, Duodecim, Ys 7, Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor’s edge, and DMC are all potential candidates. I’m not going to say where the dice are going to fall because I really don’t know yet.
In other news, Shannon Sun-Higginson is trying to kick-start her own documentary about sexism is gaming. I have mixed but mostly positive feelings about it. She’s tackling a much more valid issue than Sarkeesian. Aka, how “real female gamers” are treated online. For me that has always been the root of the problem when it comes to actual sexism in gaming. I could care less if Juliet Starling has a skin-tight pink body suit in Lollipop Chainsaw but when one of my female amigos gets called “Ugly fat bitch” or “Skanky ho” online by male gamers with arrested development issues it is something that really bothers me.
Of course “trash talking” online is something we’ve all experienced. I’m not 100% sure if it is gender specific. I’ve been called creepy, weird, misogynistic, balding, fat, ugly, and perverted by my own personal hater-aide squad which just goes to show you there are many ways to slander someone. No one is actually safe from the trolls. Additionally I’ve been referred to as a “loser virgin” “drug addict” “twitter detective” and “an exhibit on display”! (Some of these trolls even brought up my dead mother) Ah, humanity! Such a wonderful cesspool of negativity, am I right?
Be that as it may, Shannon is off to a good start. If anything it wouldn’t hurt for gamers and people online in general to be a little more decent to each other. Granted, arguments and personal grudges are not going to go away any time soon but we could at least be more honorable and respectful in how we conduct our social interactions. (And yes, even I’ve been guilty of geek-rage snootery!)
I can see a “dark-side aspect” from all this though. What happens when we goof around and someone interprets it the wrong way? Do we have to feel paranoid about telling jokes around the wrong people? Where does protecting others begin and where does infringing upon freedom of expression and freedom of speech end? Yes, it’s a very fine line to walk so it must be tread carefully.
I’m all for gamers becoming more mature and more polite yet it would also be nice if we could retain having a sense of humor and thick enough skins to handle a ribbing from our friends once in awhile. Just saying!
I also don't know why Shannon needs $20,000.00 for her project but because I've never done an in depth survey/documentary myself, I'm just going to assume it's all very complex, resource intensive, and expensive. (A good camera, quality film, plane tickets, additional helpers, and the cost of cd/dvd copies probably adds up fast!)
