Wolfenstein II Woes

In the three weeks since Ingrid was born I have begun to notice changes in my gaming habits.  I downloaded Wolfenstein II in the hopes that I would be able to finish up a portion of it before I had to return to work...  ...  ...  After finishing up the introduction, I cannot wait for the Switch port.

Currently, it has become a little bit too much effort to boot up the PS4.  I am not loaded into a game instantaneously, and right now that is a problem.  When at any moment, I am going to have to pause and take care of Ingrid, losing up to 5 minutes to get into a game is not fun.  So, until Ingrid becomes a little more self-sufficient, I am going to have to put my PS4 gaming on the backburner.  Sorry Destiny 2 and Wolfenstein.

On the flip-side, with a mere 3 button presses, I am into Breath of the Wild.  I am so glad that I was able to pick up a Switch a couple of months back.  When I first started up Zelda, I wasn't immediately sucked into Hyrule.  It worried me a little bit because in the past, I have not been the most diligent in finishing Zelda games.  I am so glad that I waited, Breath of the Wild is the perfect game for me right now.  I can pick it up for 5 minutes, or 5 hours(assuming my battery lasts that long) and can just put the Switch into sleep mode the moment Ingrid needs my attention.  I know that I am not very far, but I have been having a blast.  Firstly, working my way to all of the towers, and allowing myself to be distracted by any Shrines that I stumble upon.

If you take away anything from this post today, let it be this.  THE SWITCH IS AMAZING AND I CANNOT STOP PLAYING IT!!!
And while I am thinking about it, I am probably going to get DOOM and Skyrim on the Switch.

the switch IS amazing. I love it so much. I haven't finished zelda yet, but I'd like to.  Mario is the kind of game you can jump in and out of too.

I feel exactly the same about the Switch as I did the Vita when I first got Sony's handheld.  Except its so much better than the Vita because of Mario Kart, Zelda and Mario.

I really want a Switch, but I don't have much use for its portability. I just don't get in those situations at home or at my friend's place. But, I still want to play a bunch of stuff on there, probably totally docked and on my tv.

The portability is exactly what I want from the Switch.  That is the nicest part of it is that you can play it howver you like.  If you prefer to play on the TV, you can.

Yea, that's cool. I was just looking to see if it had a web browser because I wanted to think of it, when I get one, as my first tablet, but it doesn't have one yet.

I'm really looking forward to getting a Switch, though it probably won't be till after Christmas Undecided

I am sorry to hear that you will have to suffer life without one for a few months more.

Kids do change gaming habits. I know that from experience. Sounds like the Switch is more adaptable to those changes than the PS4 by nature of being portable and being able to put it down at a moment's notice.

If I am able to get back into my old morning schedule, I should be able to have a little time to play while I enjoy my coffee...  I just know that I shouldn't expect that to happen.

With my daughter's current feeding schedule, it could work.  I just need to get my body used to that amount of sleep.  Granted, by the time that would actually work out, her schedule will probably change.

I've been playing Switch almost exclusively for a while now.

The other day I was contemplating trading in my New 3DS XL and games so that I could buy more Switch games but then I slapped myself upside the head and said to myself "What the hell are you thinking? I don't even know who you are anymore."

I love playing Mario on the TV upstairs and then when my wife calls me down for dinner I pop the thing out of the dock and take it downstairs with me.

I haven't touched my 3DS in years.  I no longer have it, I passed it on to my nephew...  who was quite pleased to recieve it.

I think that's why I like to play mobile games a bit more than console games because I want something I can play for a couple of minutes here and there. I'm glad the Switch is doing this for you and you're enjoying Zelda.

There was a time that I remember playing quite a bit of mobile.  Those games haven't spoken to me in a while.  There were some really great mobile games, but there are so many games on the app-store nowadays its so hard to find the cream.

I'm still doing all my gaming on PS4, because even with portable systems, I end up just playing at home anyway.

However, the no load times thing sounds might nice.

I do use the suspend feature on my PS4, but I still need to turn on the TV, change input channels, adjust volumes, select user...  It's all about getting into the game faster, especially if I know that I may need to put it down in 5 minutes.

I pretty much just turn the tv on and maybe adjust volumes ... If that. Game takes a second to load but eh.
