What Are You Buying On Black Friday?

So next week is Thanksgiving and I do like this time of the year because tons of food, family get together, and of course Black Friday shopping, on Thursday (sorry retail folks). This year is no different with the exception that the local Target has closed down and my only close option is either Toys R Us and Walmart (I really don't want to drive too far out of laziness). Over the past couple of weeks I've been waiting to see the latest offerings from the various stores to see if something appeals to me just enough for me to want to drive to the next town to hit the Target, or if Walmart and or Toys R Us will have the things I want. Thanks to sites like Slickdeals and Cheapassgamer and apps like Flipp I am able to view the Black Friday ads early and plan out what I want. Now I'm not buying a lot but there are a couple of things I want to get along with on the fence stuff

Stuff I want from Walmart

Games

$20 Games

Injustice 2 – PS4 : I wanted to wait a bit for the gold uber everything is included collection but with the announcement of including the Ninja Turtles along with me playing the mobile game since its release $20 is a decent price for this game. I feel I can get my moneys worth out of the single player, maybe buy the season pass, and link the game to my mobile game for any special unlockables.

$12 Games

Deadpool – PS4: I just want to play it. It's been $20 for I think a year now but I never got around to buying the game, but for $12 it's a why not. I can play through it and then put it on the give to my cousins pile that they look through when they visit. Well if there is a lot of cussing then maybe the game won't be on the pile.

Now there are a couple of other games I might want like MLB The Show, Titanfall 2, and others but I am placing them on the maybe pile. I know there's a version of Titanfall that comes with everything for $30 on Amazon, and if I decide to jump on Titanfall that is a better deal than the vanilla copy at Walmart. I also am looking at some box TV Shows to add to the library.

So far I'm looking at spending at least $42 with the two games and Supergirl Season 2, but who knows I might find something else. The big question is also with the games that are released this week: Star Wars Battlefront 2, and Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2. I think Lego is releasing today (November 13th) and Star Wars is on Friday. Tough choices will be made. I am also looking/hoping there will be sales on external hard drives because I'm quickly filing up the 4TB Media drive I bought a couple of months ago, and my 4TB Steam Drive (its home to all my PC games) is down to the last 100GB so I'm looking for another add-on drive.

Anyways for you folks getting ready to hit the Black Friday sales is there anything that sticks out that you are going to buy?

Alright Pixlpeeps I am off! Have a good week

That's all for now, more later!

-Chris

I'm broke so I won't be buying anything on Black Friday. As someone who has worked the past 10 Thanksgivings straight I'm happy to say I won't be taking part in the whole thing. Its not even Friday anymore, most stores moved it up to Thanksgiving itself. A lot of them care not that you're basically giving up the holiday with your family to go to work get yelled at, and insulted by a bunch of ingrates looking to save $5 on a pack of socks. All the while they act surprised to see such long lines

I'm part of the problem because I'm going to hit the Walmart around 6pm on Thanksgiving. I do like that some stores are offering the BF deals online on Thanksgiving. There is no way I'm going out on Black Friday because people are nuts. When the local Target was open they had a couple of cops in the electronics section. Thank goodness I'm in and out within minutes because I don't want to be anywhere near folks trying to fight over cheap TVs.

Last two years I went out Thanksgiving night after dinner. 2016 I got a XBO and PS4. Last year, I just got my friend Mark a new TV. I didn't pay for it, he did, I just picked it up for him.

I am planning to get a switch and a few games black friday. I have yet to see the fliers yet for the stores but I am assuming they will be coming to my home eventually.

That's a heck of a pickup! Check out the Flipp app. It has all the weekly fliers from major retailers, and you just tap on an image and it adds it to your shopping list.

Yay, get a Switch then you can be "One of us, one of us, we accept you, one of us."

Ok, so you can still be one of us without the Switch but what the heck.

That would be my purchase this year if I could. Or maybe. . . But I shouldn't. But maybe. . .

Last year for Black Friday I got a good deal on a PS4.  I probably won't get anything this year.  Plus I have to work that day, but luckily it's in the afternoon/evening so hopefully it'll be dead by then.

I should have waited when I bought my PS4. I think I got it a week or two before Black Friday and the bundle at the time was get a PS4 and GTA V for a lot less than what I paid for just the unit.

Hopefully folks get what they want and don't have to fight over items. I usually wait an hour after opening so all the crazy folks who want doorbusters can get the crazy out of their system.

Being in Canada, Black Friday is a tacked on shopping day with no real meaning. We don't get the day off like you guys and we don't celebrate Thanksgiving the day before.

So I'll probably be ignoring the Black Friday sales here.

The good thing is that you're keeping money in your pocket, and retail folks don't have to fight off rude shoppers.

Oh the rude shoppers will be out there even if the deals aren't great. I know a lot of people who cross the border just to be rude to your retail folks. :)

I'll be off school that day and off from the library (I'm a page temporarily now) on Friday. Whoopee! Unfortuneately I shouldn't spend a dime. This Switch talk though has got me reved for one. Oh, can I resist, or can't I?

You should resist, BUT I hear that Mario game is pretty darn spiffy so....Yeah I'm horrible when helping people decide. Tongue Out

Deadpool is a surprisingly fun game, but don't leave it on the kiddie pile.

I didn't know Injustice 2 was $20. Well, then.

I ended up buying Deadpool on Steam for $12. I guess they're pulling it out of the store this week so I figured at least this way I can play it on the go. So far its fun and yeah just the language alone will keep this game off the pile of games for the cousins.

Yep Walmart has it in their Black Friday ad. So far this will be my only game unless I find something else.

I'm looking to see what deals there will be on graphics cards, thinking of upgrading mine. Would like a 1070, but might have to settle for a 1060

Good luck with finding a deal on the graphics card! Games must look freaking awesome on that card.
