I picked up this game not long ago. I really didn't know much about it. I only wanted it because someone gave me a free strategy guide and I thought, "I might as well pick up the game too".
Thanks for the review.

So Dungeon Siege 3 has been out for a long time now and it took me along time to decide to get it, and although i wanted it it wasn,t on top of my list to get games but i did a while back and did manage to complete it, and my opinion on this one may or may not be very helpful on deciding if you want to try it or not but I have very mixedopinions on this game so here goes.
Dungeon Siege III is an action rpg,and is available for PC,PS3 or the 360, Dungeon Seige 3 is the 3rd in the series to not be developed by Gas Powered Games, and the first to be published by Square Enix after it aqquired the rights from the Dungeon Seige franchise, and it was released in June of 2011.
You can play as one of four characters, and all four have different stories to tell although they all tie in together. The background is in a Mideavel age, with the geographics veriety in open and enclosed enviroments, you will travel through dungeons of course and you will traverse through country and towns as well as graveyards etc, well you get my point,as the game progresses and different quest are completed the other three characters will meet and join you, depending on which character you play. and unlike the other games in the series you can only recruit one npc to join you at a time and although you can switch between them through the ingame menue. The recruited player is played by the AI and if you choose can become an online character as well, meaning a freind can play with you.
The story is the game returns to the Kingdom of Ehb which already featured as the setting of the first ( but not the second ) game. Roughly 150 years after the events of Dungeon Siege, the tenth legion, who provided stability and protection for the kingdom for 400 years, has almost been completely wiped out. 30 years before the games setting, Jeyne Kassynder rallied the people of eastern Ehb and the Auzunite church against the legion who she blamed for the death of the king ( her father ). Following a long and brutal campaign, she managed to kill the entire remmenant of the legion in a battle in the Rukkenvah forest and the royalist army of young queen Roslyn has been driven deep into the mines of glitterdelve, losing almost all her power. as you can see it does have a rather good tale to tell.
The graphics as seen in the picks are beautiful and very vibrant and has a dark feel about it which is right for the time period, the music is the same very good and on par with the time, and the voice acting is nothing all that great but beleivable, the main reason I gave it the score i did was because the game is so linear, and one thing in an rpg that i cant stand is being told where i have to go and this game gives you very few choices, so the replay value is almost nill with the exception you can play with a different character for a little bit of a different story. All in all its a decent game, and nothing i would pay over $20 for although i did since the value has dropped very little since its release, it retains its value like KOA did for some reason so if you want it you may be able to find it cheap but good luck with that. Anyway this is a solid action rpg and there is alot of fun to be had here but with 15 to 20 hours long you could blow through it in a couple of nights, sorry i didnt get into the play mechanics to much but theres just not a whole lot to say,but if you want an rpg action based to kill time with or just to get the trophy or acheivments its a decent game that wyou will have fun with but it is a georgeous looking game i will give it that.
A couple of my friends said some really negative things about DS3. Which shocked me because I thought it was great. The story was decent, the combat was fun, and the voice acting was solid. A lot of times I get annoyed by voice acting in rpgs. I hope to go back and play it again with a different character sometime.
My Wife and I started this game and we were really enjoying it, but after a while it became rather monotonous and bland. It was fun to start, but the luster wore off quickly. Perhaps it's more along the lines of a game that simply needs to be pieced out and played over a longer period of time, or maybe it's just me?
