So yesterday I had a Quick Hits all typed up (well almost) and I was going to edit a couple of pictures and then upload everything…and then I didn’t do it, so here we are lying on my back, still in bed and I am trying again. I figure I will Frankenstein portions of yesterday’s blog (maybe 90%) and some new content today. So let’s get started on this pre-Christmas Quick Hits.
Chris’ New Year Stuff Starts Now!
Podcasts
So on Monday (was it Monday?) I wrote about my podcast situation and well here is what I have going: I have a core of maybe five or six podcasts that I listen to 24/7. Over the year I’m starting to lose interest in a couple of them and I think it is time to cut back on my lineup. I stopped listening to them for various reasons but the main one for a couple of them is that I’m just not enjoying them anymore. Why save up a week’s worth of episodes just to skip through most of it because it has become repetitive, boring, or so bias that it has become not worth the trouble of listening to? On my phone I have my current core of I think 5 that I like and if there is an episode I don’t want to listen to, I’ll just erase it.
Music
I’m removing mixtapes I don’t listen to/didn’t rate high enough from my iTunes. The actual files will be on my external hard drive just in case I want to go back to listen to them. I’m also going to remove Clean versions of albums I’ve replaced, digital copies of albums I have since purchased a physical version of, and I’m thinking removing old saved podcasts that I’ve placed under Audiobooks.
Audiobooks
I’m going to remove the audiobooks I’ve listened to from my iTunes and place those files on an external hard drive. It’ll clear up space and I’ll get to use that space for new books.
Records
I think it’s time I thin out my record collection. I have to be honest, I don’t love my records as much as my CDs and any record I own a CD copy of, I’ll most likely get rid of the record version. I’ll keep my the hard to find stuff, and things I really like. Everything else I’ll place on the donate pile. Again it clears up space and I’ll the stuff I really like
Steam Games
Originally I wanted to have my entire Steam Library installed and ready to go. It was a solid idea when I had a small library but now I’m facing an almost filled 4TB external hard drive, and my 2TB Media drive on my laptop being filled I’m going to have to start choosing which games I really need installed. I think it is time to uninstall the games I finished, a bunch of the freebies I collected through 2017, and it is probably time to uninstall Grand Theft Auto V from my laptop. I love the game but I haven’t kept up with Trainer, that let’s me customize the hell out of single player (I don’t play online) and I do love driving around in new cars, and being a Superhero but now all I would do is just drive around and cause trouble for 10 minute or so. Maybe I will be able to install it on the external drive and save 100 GB on the laptop.
Chris Watches
Floribama Shore - MTV
Oh this show is so bad, yet I can’t stop watching. It follows the same recipe of Jersey Shore of young folks living by the beach, occasionally working, drinking, drama, and lots of crying. They don’t have the catch-phrases that Jersey Shore has but there are some moments that are just laugh out loud funny.
Narcos - Netflix
I’m still on the second season and damn this show is good. I’m spreading it out as much as possible because I really like this storyline of everybody vs Pablo Escobar.
Travel Channel On Fridays - Travel Channel
My favorite thing about Friday is that on the Travel Channel in the late morning/afternoon they have a Ghost Adventures Marathon. I like this show even though it can be a bit silly at times because its not wall to wall drama. The subject is spooky but interesting and usually I’ve seen most of the episodes already so I can skip and choose which ones I watch again.
At night I watch their Destination Truth marathon because its just like Ghost Adventures except its more silly. This is usually what is on the TV before I go to sleep.
Ramblings:
- Yesterday I tried to buy toys for my cousin’s little daughters. I have no idea what little girls play with and while walking through the dolls section of Toys R Us, I had no idea what I was doing. If only they liked Hot Wheels or Lego I would have been fine.
- I went to Toys R Us at 11am and that store was full. All the older Disney Infinity and Skylander stuff dropped to .50 cents and starter packs were a buck. They didn’t have any more of the Wii Superchargers pack, or else I would have grabbed one. I almost bought some of the Infinity 3.0 stuff but eventually I put them back, and you’ll know why in a bit.

Games
There is a Steam Winter sale currently going on and well I found a couple of games for $20. The first night I bought
I don’t think I ever owned the Complete Saga. I know for sure I have Lego SW, and Lego SW II on PS2 but maybe I own the combo version on PS3. Anyways just so I can run through the game on God Mode (thanks Lego cheat codes) and apparently if I watch the Lego Indiana Jones trailer within the game I can lock Indiana Jones. Even with all the cheats running I’m taking my time playing through the game and I forgot how to change characters you have to be next to the character.
The next night one of the games went on sale but not just one, but the entire series
Not only do I get the one set I was going to buy at Toys R Us, but it comes with all the characters and all three sets. I stopped playing the series after 1.0 and own all the figures with the exception of the Lone Ranger set (I wasn’t a fan) but now I can play that set along with 2.0, and 3.0.
iTune App Store had a sale on games and I added one for a trip I’m taking in about a month
I almost finished the game on original X-Box (I got to the last couple of missions before the X-Box died) and then I think I bought it again on Steam but never started it. Now I have it on the iPad and I am ready to go. I should install it on the phone but I think I’d have more fun on iPad
Hot Wheels
While shopping for my younger cousins I did find something I liked
It’s game related too! The Warthog from Halo this year is black and I only found one. Thanks to Hot Wheels guy who put all the cool hard to find cars on the front of the pegs.
Alright Pixlpeeps it is time for me to call it a blog because I really should get up, do some cleaning, and maybe get a couple of games in…or I could just be lazy and listen to podcasts for another hour. Anyways to my Pixlbit family I hope you have a wonderful Christmas/Holiday season, and may you all spend it with good people, good food, and be safe during the crazy period known as the 26th when stores have sales and people are returning a bunch of stuff.
Merry Christmas Pixlpeeps!
