I am now the proud owner of a Galaxy S8+

Without really intending to I wound up getting a new phone yesterday. What was wrong with my Nexus 6P you ask?

Well nothing, except for the fact that it doesn't have a micro SD expansion slot but that's not the point.

I had paid off the 6P last month and was eligible for a new one. I also realized that my current plan only covered calling from anywhere in Freedom Mobile's home area (which sucks unless you never leave London, Kitchener or Toronto) to anywhere in Canada and the US.

Since I am going to be in California next week, I would have had to pay 15 cents a minute for any calls I make between the 2nd and the 6th.

So I upgraded my plan to include 2400 away minutes a month. So no matter who's network I'm on I don't pay extra,

Well along with the new plan I was told I could have the Galaxy S8+ and not have to give them any more money.

So I went for it. Got home, retired the 6P and found a use for the 64GB card I took out of the Switch.

And they all lived heavily happy after.

just played some Zelda. Got lost in the desert. Whole lotta nothing out there. Did the maze though. Now I'm back in green grassy land til next time.

It took me forever to get a smart phone. I wonder how long it will be before I upgrade it?

I'm still using a flip phone. Which is a step up from my landline that I was using up until three years ago.

The S8+ is a nice phone. I tried them out a couple of times and I do like the design. The Galaxy, Pixel 2 XL, and the new Razor phone are the ones I've been looking at as my next phone.

I've been using it for a few weeks now and I love it. It's comfortable and fast with a great screen. I just took it with me to Cali and I'm still finding out things. Fun! Now if I can only figure out this MacBook Pro my new employer gave me I'll be all set. I should be getting an iPhone 8 from them next week.

Not my choice but then I'm not paying for it.
