I paid $2 for it and still feel trolled.

Thank you for taking one for the team with that game. I did the same thing with Dear Esther. Now we both know that neither of those games was any fun and we don't have to play the other one.

Indeed. I get the feeling this game's Metacritic score is based on pretentious reviewers seeing an "art" game and needing to give it a positive review so that everyone can know they "totally got it."

Such a dull, pointless, incomprehensible experience. But the soundtrack IS pretty good. I'll give it that.

Wasn't it reviewed here on Pixlbit? I thought pixlbit hated it. Or maybe it was on the podcast.

I'll look into that, cause now I'm curious.

Yeah, it turns out I even commented on it. I'm scared for my brain.

So glad I skipped this guy.

I am not happy I spent $2 on something that amounts to a dynamic theme that occasionally asks me to press x instead of just buying a dynamic theme.

Well, that puts it ahead of Dear Esther. At least you got to push X on occasion!

What made you dislike it so much?

The lack of a coherent narrative.

See, I know that now, but look at the second comment I left on your review.

Also, I thought this game was released a year ago, because academic years are weird and that's been my calendar the past two years.

Sort of my experience with Gone Home and TellTale games. They may tell an interesting story (maybe not in Virginia's case) but there's darn little to do. I play games to interact, not watch.

Funny you mention telltale, cause I actually REALLY liked this episode 1 of Batman I got from PS+. They let you interact quite a bit I felt. Still in an on-rails kind of way, but there was a reason for my hands on the controller most of the time and the story was actually really interesting to me.

Well that's an improvement. Usually I'm wondering why I haven't touched a button for half an hour.

That wasn't my experience with Telltale Borderlands either. That one kept me busy, I just wasn't as invested in the story.

The Borderlands one was ok, but whenever I haven't done something on the controller for a few minutes, I wonder whether I'm actually playing a game or not. I was really invested in that story though. Probably the TellTale game I enjoyed the most.

At first I was thought "I've never been to that state but ok" and then it turns out to be a game.

Yeah, nothing against the state. Never visited, but the one guy I know from there is friendly.
