Blog a Day #3
Hello everyone, how are you? Last year was definitely an amazing year for the Switch. This year looks like it could be just as good too. So here are the Nintendo Switch games I'm looking forward to this year:
SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy: I've been in a mood to play 2d fighters again and I thought this game looked really fun when they showed it. It looks like it'll have an all female cast of characters so that is pretty cool. Don't think any fighting game has done that, that I know of at least. Switch is definitely lacking some fighting games and this looks like it will fill that gap nicely.
Bayonetta 1 and 2 Switch: I remember trying these games for the first time almost 2 years ago. Finding a copy of it for the Wii U was nearly impossible but managed to luck out and find one. They are some of the best action games I have ever played and having them on the Switch would be cool. These are the only Wii U ports on this list and the only games I would gladly double dip on.
Blade Strangers: I've actually been in the mood to play more 2D fighters as I've already mentioned. They showed this one during E3 last year and when I saw Umihara Kawase in the game I knew I had to get the game. They will also have other playable characters from different games as well so it's like a crossover fighting game. The art style they went for looks really good and looks really fun. Switch is lacking fighting games at the moment so this looks like it'll be worth picking up.
Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes: This one was a big surprise. This one takes place after the first No More Heroes and as you can expect, the plot is bound to be absurd but still good fun. It's the 3rd game in the series but it's not NMH3. Really can't wait to see what Travis is up to but that means I need to finish up NM2, even though this one takes place before 2.
Dark Souls: Remastered: I have never tried any of the Souls games before and have heard how difficult they are. Maybe they aren't and people like to exaggerate, who knows. But I feel this is a perfect opportunity to do so since it's coming to the Switch. I mean yeah I can get it on the PS4 instead but you know the Switch version wont go down in price and if I enjoy it, I can always buy the PS4 at some point since it's bound to get a pricedrop eventually. It's been a long time coming but I'm really excited to give it a try.
Kirby Star Allies: I freaking loved Returns to Dream Land on the Wii. I think they perfected 2-4 player co-op with it and it was so much fun whether you were playing by yourself or with more people. Star Allies looks like it'll be just as good, if not better than RtDL. Look how happy he looks. There has never been a bad Kirby game in my opinion and it looks like that trend will continue. Can't wait to try Kirby's first Switch game.
Not comfirmed but possible 2018 releases:
Bayonetta 3: Seeing Bayonetta 3 last year during the VGA's was such an unexpected surprise. This one hasn't been confirmed for 2018 but anything is possible at this point. I'm definitely looking forward to it.
Metroid Prime 4: This one has been a long time coming actually. This could easily be my most anticipated game this year, if it releases this year that is. Rumor has it that Bandai Namco is working on it, which is odd but I'm willing to give them the benefit of doubt if that is indeed true.
And that's all the Switch games I'm excited for this year. That have been confirmed since we will definitely see more stuff at Nintendo Directs and E3. What Nintendo Switch games are you looking forward to this year? Thanks for reading and...
