Welcome to week 2 of BaD and well I’m supposed to start this week’s theme but I’ll start it tomorrow because well Monday is my usual update day and I know you good people are dying to know what random mobile game I played. Actually this past weekend I was out and about again because it was Wedding Part 2, this time it was my cousin on the shores of very swanky La Jolla (it’s pronounced “La Hoy-a”, but I like to say “La Joe-la”). It was a short trip but it was fun because I got to spend some time with other cousins who I haven’t seen as much, and once again spend crazy money on overpriced hotel food.

Ok random tangent time: What kind of hotel doesn’t have a fridge in their room and have a place open at random hours if you want a Coke? The one I stayed at, of course!

So early in the morning we made the trek out to San Diego, because we wanted a couple of hours to relax, roam around the hotel, maybe hit the mall down the street, and eat lunch.

That’s me watching This Old House!

We met up with my cousin who was staying down the hall and went to eat at the hotel bar/restaurant and surprise they had Mac & Cheese with broccoli (I’ve been on a kick for this) and it wasn’t bad. We found out that times were changed and now we needed to be at the venue a half hour early. Everyone else was freaking out but I casually went back to the room, finished my lunch, and calmly got dressed for the 10 minute ride down to the seaside. It was all a rouse to get us there early and we spent the next 30-40 minutes hanging out before people started showing up.

The ceremony was awesome, I decided to sit at the last row because once the show is over I’m out within seconds and off to the bar for one of many Coca-cola’s. I swear I’m the dream guest for Open Bars because all I take down are sodas. It was an hour of hanging out and we were supposed to mingle with everyone else but it was like high school and everyone clumped together in their respective cliques while on the lookout for new hors d’oeuvres (thanks Google for the spelling). There was what I called the unicorn, which was jumbo shrimp that kept getting ambushed at the kitchen entrance. I got two!

The actual dinner was fun because we met some new folks at my table, along with some family, enjoyed good food, some fun conversations, and then the music hits. Since this was one crazy mixture of different cultures the music reflected it and it was fun to listen to music I wouldn’t normally listen to. After this it was time to head back to the hotel for more overpriced food.

Next day after hitting the breakfast buffet and spending time with family it was time to take off. First however one of the old malls I used to hit, University Town Center (by UCSD) has a Lego store which means I needed to visit and see if there was something worth buying from the pick-a-brick wall. There really wasn’t anything I wanted so I walked around checking out the new look because the mall I used to visit wasn’t anywhere this nice

That’s me!

After this it was a quick trip down the freeway to an Asian Supermarket where I load up on groceries and whole duck! This place is a madhouse because it’s small and a lot of people are there to buy plate lunches, groceries, and visit the little shops within the building. After an hour or so we were off heading for home.

That was the weekend for me. Also there was some idiot on the freeway who thought we wanted to race him. He kept chasing which was odd but karma bit this dumbass in the ass when he got stuck behind a semi truck and a car behind him on the far right lane. Guess who boxed him in?

Anyways that was my weekend and tomorrow I’ll start with this week’s theme. Oh I planned on playing games on my travel laptop and iPad that I brought but after I finished my overpriced cheeseburger at the hotel I knocked out. I played zero games during the weekend.

That’s all for now, more tomorrow!

No Jack and Coke?

Nope, I'm not a fan of alcohol. Once in a while I might but usually it's just soda.

Just a kind of joke since I remember Duke Nukem having a Jack & Coke in one of the games.

that's a pretty nice setup in the hotel.

I haven't been to a wedding in a while. There was a point when they were happening all the time though.

It was a nice hotel excep it had one of those sliding barn doors for the bathroom with no lock and it just feels odd to not have a lock on a bathroom door.

I like weddings because it gives me a reason to get all dressed up.

I asked for a Jim Beam and Dr. Pepper at an open bar in Ohio once. She thought I must be a little kid not to ask for a jack and coke. I was 21 at the time and had left my ID ...

Mac and cheese and broccoli sounds nice.

Congrats to the couple!

I don't think I've ever had a Jim Beam and Dr. Pepper, I should ask for that next time just to give it a try.

Mac & Cheese with broccoli is good stuff. Maybe I should try and make it myself.

Jim Beam and Dr. Pepper has a nice pepperminty flavor when done right. However, if they water it down it can taste like garbage, so it's a bit of a Russian Roulette kina thing.
