When the NES Classic hit store shelves it was all the rage. Comprising of 30 games, there were quite a lot of games as well as classic titles that made it. Of course with a system that has about 900 titles, not all of them made it onto the system and not all of them are winners. So I figured I'd try and highlight some notable classics and some maybe not so notable crap. And since I have just about every title...we might s well give it a whirl. Let's go!

Notable Nes Classics: So because the classics from the NES were s varied, I figured I'd give a list of some of my favorites out there. Of course since this is opinion it won't be on every person's list, I may even miss out on a title. But off the top of my head I can list so many classics: 1942, Adventures of Lolo, Battletoads,Bionic Commando, Blaster Master, Castlevania III, Contra, Crystalis, Dragon Warrior, Duck Tales, Journey to Silius, Mega Man III, Rygar, etc. Of course I am excluding some japanese exclusive titles you could play through translated emulators and also hacked rom titles. These titles such as Chronicles of the Radia War, Mega Man in the Mushroom Kingdom, Various Mario rom hacks, etc. And thereare even some titles like Super Spike V'Ball which  was one of my favorite titles as a kid if only for the soundtrack.

Of Course no console is without it's share of crap and theres plenty of it on the NES. Of course you've got the stuff covered by the AVGN in the usual suspects of Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde, Dragon's Lair, Silver Surfer, etc. But there is also licensed garbage like Barbie and the Beranstain Bears. One title I remember getting as a kid is Urban Champion. Good god is it a terrible game. I can't believe I thought it was kind of fun as a kid. Boy was I stupid.

Anyways, That's just some insight as to some classics that I hold in regard and of course a little griping about bad NES games. What are some titles you consider classic? Any underrated gems you hold near and dear? Any overly bad or frustrating games you played as a kid? Let me know in the commens below! Tomorrow I'll explore some SNES Classics and Crap.

I was sad I wasn't able to get a NES Classic Edition, but not too sad because most of my personal NES favorites were not on there.  I liked Capcom's Disney games like DuckTales and Rescue Rangers, and also their Mega Man series.  I think I liked Mega Man more than Mario.  I also liked the Adventures of Lolo games (I liked HAL before they were cool), and Capcom's Little Nemo: The Dream Master.

The Disney Afternoon Collection definitely seems like it would be great to have. Sadly it's not on Switch, but I can play all the games on my emulator regardless. Not a big deal, but I would have liked to have picked it up on the Switch.

The NES Classic left of a lot of my favorites: Dragon Warrior I-4, Faxanadu, and Ultima: Exodus. I didn't actually expect the last one to come out on the NES classic, as it was a bit obscure and its copyright is held by Electronic Arts. But Dragon Warrior should have been easy enough for Nintendo and Square Enix to put on the NES Classic. I also would have liked Wizards and Warriors, which was made by Rare and I guess would be owned by Microsoft now.

Yeah there was definitely missed oppurtunity for Dragon Warrior for sure. I also would have like to have seen  Bubble Bobble or Rad Racer

It is pretty sweet. The Daytona and Chicago tracks are just nice to listen to

I keep my NES around mainly for Wizardry and Dragon Warrior but there's a lot I'd like to sample. Recently I got another inflow of game from a friend of mine, so later this year I'm going to play some NES. Oh yes.
